Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an elastic roll for a calendering equipment having enough smoothing effect and glazing effect by a structure wherein a resin pipe with specified dynamic viscoelastic characteristics is employed to the sheathing part of an elastic roll and fitted onto a metallic core by applying the thermal expansion of the resin pipe. CONSTITUTION:An extruded pipe 1 made of thermoplastic resin, the storage elastic modulus E1 and loss elastic modulus E2 measured at a frequency of 110Hz within the temperature range of 50-150 deg.C of which are 2X10 dyn/cm dyn/cm and 3X10 dyn/cm dyn/cm , is fitted onto a metallic roll core by applying the thermal expansion of the pipe in order to fit the resin pipe 1 in such a manner as to cover the surface of the metallic roll core 2 serving as an axis core. When a calendering equipment equipped with the above-mentioned roll is run within the temperature range of 50-120 deg.C, the smoothing and glazing of magnetic tape and the like can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to provide desired surface characteristics to a roll having a metallic roll body covered, on the outer surface thereof, with a synthetic resin layer, by forming the synthetic resin layer with a uniform polyamide layer having therein fine pores in a predetermined porosity range. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide synthetic resin layer 3 having therein fine pores 5 uniformly distributed thereover is covered on the outer surface 2 of a metallic roll body 1 which is subjected to satin finish. The porosity of this synthetic resin layer is in a range of 2 to 25%, which is effective in changing the surface characteristics such as, for example, electrical resistance, adhesion, heat transfer coefficient, etc. However, an excessive porosity causes the mechanical strength of the cover layer to be lowered, and therefore the porosity range from 2 to 25% is suitable. At first the synthetic resin is formed such that the diameter of the pores is less than 0.5mu at muximum, but 0.1-3mu on an average, and the thickness of the layer is 0.2-15mm.. Then the outer surface of the layer is ground so that the layer has a thickness (d) of 0.08-10mm., preferably 0.20-7mm., having uniform pore distribution.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high injection molding fluidity and high mechanical strength and yet to retain sufficient electric charge decay speed by using a resin composition of a specified heat resistant resin containing a specified amount of a natural scaly graphite for the material of the bearing parts. CONSTITUTION:The bearing parts are formed by preparing a resin composition containing 100pts.wt. of the heat resistant resin selected from a group consisting of polyarylate, polysulfone, polyether-sulfone, polyether-imide, polyether-ketone, polyphenylene-sulfide, and polyamide-imide, and 8-70pts.wt. of the natural scaly graphite, kneading and dry blending it, continuously kneading and extruding it into pellets, and further, melting and extruding them into a metallic mold, cooling and solidifying them, and taking them out.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable long time use of the titled sliding member which is high in durability, endures application terms of high temperature and high PV and is high in tenacity and wear resistance, by making use of a sliding member having a specific kinetic viscoelastic characteristic value. CONSTITUTION:The titled member is one to be obtained by performing injection molding or extrusion molding of heat-resistant resin or a resin composite containing the heat-resistant resin. Then at least the storage elastic modulus E1, loss elastic modulus E2 and coefficient of friction F of a sliding surface shall satisfy expression of 1X10 dyn/cm dyn/cm , 2X10 dyn/ cm dyn/cm , F and 30 deg.C by making the other member of the sliding members into a steel material of S45C. Although the most suitable thickness of a resin layer of the sliding member varies according to a form, dimensions, terms of use, the same falls normally within a range of 0.5mm-40mm. Therefore, the sliding member is formed by injection molding and extrusion molding which are profitable economically.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the rise time of a copying machine by forming a film composed of a specified black powder, and a modified silicone resin and/or a polyamideimide resin on the inside wall of a heat fixing roll using visible rays and/ or near IR rays as a heat source. CONSTITUTION:The film of a compsn. of a black powder essentially consisting of 5-70wt% carbon black and/or graphite powder, and 95-30wt% binder essentially consisting of a modified silicone (Si) resin and/or a polyamideimide (PAI) resin is formed on the wall of the inside hollow of the heat fixing roll in an inside hollow heating type chiefly using visible rays, and/or near IR rays as a heat source. It is preferable to form the inner film of such a compsn. in a film thickness of 1-30mum and to use Al or Al alloys as the base material of the heat fixing roll.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve heating efficiency and copying performance by providing a photoselectively absorbing film on the inside surface in the hollow part of a heating roll. CONSTITUTION:A heating roll 12 for fixing toner is made hollow and a light source 13 consisting of visible or near IR rays is provided in the hollow layer so that the roll 12 heated by the same. A photoselectively absorbing film is formed on the inside surface in the hollow part of the roll 12. The photoselective absorptivity of said absorbing film is required to have >=50%, more preferably >=80% average absorptivity of visible and (or) near IR rays. A better result is obtd. if the average emissivity of the film within 150-250 deg.C is
