Abstract: This disclosure relates to system and method for managing an insect swarm using a plurality of drones. The method includes detecting an insect swarm. The method may further include tracking a movement of the insect swarm. The method further includes communicating, with remaining of the plurality of drones, to dynamically align in a position based on the tracking so as to make a drone formation. The method further includes magnetizing, by at least some of the plurality of drones, one or more drone couplers for electromagnetically coupling the at least some of the plurality of drones with each other as per the drone formation. The method further includes casting, by each of the plurality of drones, a net to trap insects in the insect swarm. The method further includes supplying, by each of the plurality of drones, a high voltage to the net to decapacitate the insects.

Abstract: Proposed is a method of determining a location for swarm flight using UWB, the method including: computing a reference location from GPS information in a case where the location is measured; sending out a pulling signal, preset according to a two-way ranging format, according to slave ranging scheduling corresponding to each formation, and receiving a pushing signal from a neighboring flight vehicle and performing ranging; computing a relative location in the formation on a master-slave basis from a ranged pull-push relationship using TWR time information, and computing the relative location in the formation on a slave-slave basis using a received signal strength indicator and time of arrival; generating a fingerprint map in a manner that varies with each formation, using all the computed relative locations in the formation on the master-slave basis; and computing the location of the swarm flight vehicle using the generated fingerprint map.

Abstract: A method for protection of inflight aircraft during approaching-to-landing and takeoff/climbout phases of flight against handheld laser attacks includes two different drone types: a skeining drone and a swarming drone. One or more skeining drones are deployed close to the aircraft and/or one or more swarming drones are deployed further from the aircraft and closer to the beam source. Prior to the aircraft's traversal of a determinable approach point, a plurality of swarming drones are pre-deployed in loitering mode or else launched, and are subsequently directed toward the reckoned source of a trained beam while skeining drones are pre-deployed in a patrol mode or else launched, and fly closer to the aircraft. The skein classically shields the cockpit by flying a controlled interference pattern roughly parallel to the aircraft flightpath while the swarm saturates one or more determined and dynamically redetermined regions athwart the beam source location.
