Abstract:

Abstract:
A subject of the present invention is an anti-corrosive and antistatic lubricating composition for a hydrocarbonated mixture comprising: a) at least a compound A of Formula (I) below: in which R1 and R2 are hydrogen or a linear or branched alkyl group of 1-40 carbon atoms, comprising possibly one to five double bond(s), R1 and R2 together being able to form an aromatic or aliphatic ring of 5-6 carbon atoms, said ring being capable of substitution by one to three linear or branched alkyl group(s) of 1-40 carbon atoms, in which R1 and R2 cannot be hydrogen at the same time, and in which R3 and R4, identical or different, are chosen from the OH groups, in which R3 and R4 cannot be the OH group at the same time, or deriving from a linear or branched monol or polyol group containing 1-20 carbon atoms having a functionality of 2 to 5 inclusive; b) and at least one B compound corresponding to a fatty acid of 16-24 carbon atoms, unsaturated or not, optionally in a mixture with a carboxylic acid comprising at least one aromatic and/or olefinic polycycle or ring and/or their ester, amide or corresponding amine salts derivatives, taken alone or in a mixture.
Abstract:
The invention relates to low-temperature-stabilized additives for fuel oils having a sulfur content of up 0.05% by weight, comprising fatty acid mixtures of A1) from 1 to 99% by weight of at least one saturated mono- or dicarboxylic acid having from 6 to 50 carbon atoms, A2) from 1 to 99% by weight of at least one unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic acid having from 6 to 50 carbon atoms, and B) at least one polar nitrogen-containing compound which is effective as paraffin dispersant in middle distillates, in an amount of from 0.01 to 90% by weight, based on the total weight of A1), A2) and B), and to the use of said mixtures for improving the lubrication properties of low-sulfur middle distillates.
Abstract:
A fuel composition for internal combustion engines, and more particularly, a fuel composition for internal combustion engines containing less than about 0.5 gram of lead per liter of fuel is described. The fuel composition comprises a major amount of a liquid hydrocarbon fuel and a minor, property improving amount of(A) at least one hydrocarbon-soluble alkali or alkaline earth metal-containing composition, and(B) at least one hydrocarbon-soluble ashless dispersant. When a mixture of the metal-containing composition (A) and the ashless dispersant (B) are incorporated into gasolines containing less than about 0.5 gram of lead per liter of fuel, the treated fuel exhibits improved stability and water tolerance, and when the unleaded or low lead-containing fuels of the present invention are utilized in internal combustion engines, there is a significant reduction in valve seat recession. Methods of reducing valve seat recession in internal combustion engines utilizing lead free or low lead-containing fuels also are described.
Abstract:
