    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the stability of rotation in extremely low speed by providing three intake ports in one cylinder, one of the ports being a port for supplying mixture within the full running range of an engine and the sectional area of an intake pipe to the intake port being smaller than that of a combined intake pipe path to the other intake ports.
    CONSTITUTION: Three intake ports 2 is provided in one cylinder. An intake pipe 5 communicating to one 2 of the intake ports is provided with a side valve system carbureter 9 driven by a wire 15 operated by a pivotable glip 14. The other two intake ports 2 are combined at the upstream side of a branch pipe 6a and have respectively throttle valves 11 which begin to open at a predetermined or more opening of a slide piston of the carbureter 9. A carbureter 10 having a constant vacuum system piston 10a is disposed upstream of the valve 11. The sectional area of te intake pipe 5 is smaller than that of the intake pipe 6, and intake flow speed is sufficiently high to provide stable combustion even in extremely low speed of an engine so that the stability of engine rotation is improved.

A valve cover 7 reciprocates within a sub-cylinder 4 and covers a bottom surface of the second exhaust poppet valve 9. A first exhaust valve 10 and an intake poppet valve 11 are provided to face an upper surface of a piston 2. After the second exhaust poppet valve 9 is opened and hot high-pressure burned gas starts to flow away, the first exhaust poppet valve 10 is opened. As a result, the temperature of the first exhaust poppet valve 10 is reduced to hardly cause knocking and the compression ratio can be increased. Then, a work amount of the piston is increased. Then, a work amount of the piston is increased. The increased work amount compensates an amount of cooling loss due to increasing in the surface area of the inside wall of the combustion chamber.
