Abstract: PURPOSE: A photo detector is provided to reduce the size of the photo detector while improving photo detecting performance by preventing an unnecessary light path from being formed between first and second housing sections of the photo detector. CONSTITUTION: A photo detector(10) includes a light emitting device(130), a light receiving device(131) and a housing(100). The housing(100) has first and second housing sections(110,120), which are coupled to each other. The first housing section(110) has at least one partition wall(111) so that the light emitting device(130) and the light receiving device(131) are received in the first housing section(110) while being separated from each other. The second housing(120) has a protrusion(121) protruding towards the first housing section(110) in order to prevent an unnecessary light path from being formed between first and second housing sections(110,120) of the photo detector(10).
