Abstract:
A system and method for decoupling a barrier from a barrier movement apparatus for the manual operation of the barrier. Advantageously, the decoupling is performed in response to a wireless signal and may be done only when the barrier is determined to be in a safe position.
Abstract:
A liftgate actuating assembly is disclosed for moving a liftgate of a motor vehicle between open and closed positions. The liftgate actuating assembly includes a motor that is fixedly secured to the motor vehicle. The motor has an output shaft capable of bi-directional rotation. A drive gear rotates about a drive shaft and is operatively connected to the output shaft to be rotated thereby. A cable drum is rotatably mounted to the drive shaft. The cable drum is coupled to the drive gear and is rotated thereby. The cable drum includes a cable wrapped thereabout between a drum end fixedly secured to the cable drum and a liftgate end fixedly secured to the liftgate. The cable is used to retract the liftgate from the open position to the closed position. A linkage is operatively connected to the drive gear. The linkage is from a retracted position to an extended position such that the linkage forces the liftgate from the closed position to the open position when the linkage moves from the retracted position to the extended position. The linkage includes a slot that provides lost motion within the linkage. This allows the liftgate to be move manually to the closed position without the motor being activated.
Abstract:
A drive arrangement (10) for a shaft (12), such as a shaft for driving a sectional door, roller shutter or the like, is in the form of a module, carried, in use, by the shaft (12) and including a motor (14), a driven wheel (16) fixed for rotation with the shaft (12) and drivable, in use, by the motor (14), and clutch means (18) and operable between the motor (14) and the wheel (16). The module further includes brace means (20) in the form of a limb attachable to a member which is fixed relative to the axis of the shaft (12), to brace the module against turning as the shaft (12) is driven.
Abstract:
For opening and closing a window or a door into and from a ventilation position a chain operating device is provided, having a first and a second fixture secured on the main frame and the frame, respectively. One fixture is firmly connected with one end of a chain (4) in engagement with a sprocket wheel mounted in the second fixture and which is driven by a rotating driving member. Said one connected fixture is designed as a two-parted coupling fixture comprising a first fixture part (1, 5) connected with the chain (4) and a second fixture part (17 to 19) connected with a frame or main frame structure. Said two fixture parts (1, 5; 17 to 19) have the form of elongated profiles that may be coupled together having individually at one end a stationary locking means (7, 22) and at the other end a releasable locking means (9, 23) so that the stationary locking means on one fixture part may be retained in releasable engagement with the releasable locking means on the second fixture part. Each of the releasable locking means (9, 23) can be switched over between two positions for releasing and retaining, respectively, the corresponding stationary locking means (22, 7).
Abstract:
Some embodiments are directed to a vehicle door assembly that includes a vehicle door, which defines an interior and is connected to the motor by the linkage, such that actuation of the actuator engages the motor, which thereby moves the vehicle door via the linkage. The vehicle door assembly also includes a powered door override. At least a portion of the powered door override can be disposed within the interior of the vehicle door. The powered door override is configured to disconnect the linkage from the motor so as to isolate the motor from the vehicle door and thereby enable the vehicle door to be moved manually. An interior panel is connected to the vehicle door so as to cover at least a portion of the interior of the vehicle door, such that the powered door override is at least partially enclosed between the interior panel and the vehicle door.
Abstract:
An automatic open-close device for use with a fitting, the device may include a rack secured to the fitting; a pinion structured to mesh with the rack; a turn-driving mechanism structured to drive the pinion to turn; and a holding member structured to rotatably hold the pinion. The holding member may be movable between a meshing position in which the rack and the pinion are engaged and a disengaging position in which the rack and the pinion are disengaged. The rack and the pinion may be configured such that, when the holding member is in the meshing position and the driving mechanism drives the pinion to turn, the fitting opens and closes.
