OFDM 셀룰러 시스템에서의 셀 탐색 방법, 순방향 링크 프레임 전송 방법, 이를 이용하는 장치 및 순방향 링크 프레임 구조가 개시된다. 이 셀 탐색 장치는 각 셀로부터, 인접하는 동기 채널 심볼 간의 간격이 서로 다른 동기 채널 심볼을 복수 개 포함하는 순방향 링크 프레임에 따른 신호를 수신하고, 상기 수신신호의 동기 채널을 이용하여, 동기채널 심볼의 동기를 획득하는 동기 획득부; 및 상기 획득된 동기를 기초로, 상기 동기 채널 심볼 간의 간격 패턴을 이용하여 프레임 경계를 검출하는 경계 검출부를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 낮은 복잡도로 셀 탐색 시간을 줄일 수 있다.

A transmitting method using a beamforming/MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output)/diversity combined multi-antenna transmission technique and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable a base station to transmit a data channel signal to a mobile terminal by simply combining MIMO, diversity, and beamforming and to enable the mobile terminal to easily select a multi-antenna transmission mode according to channel conditions. A base station transmission device for transmitting a downlink signal to a mobile terminal by using a multi-antenna transmission technique comprises a data channel creation part(210), a transmission mode selection part(220), a combiner(230), and a plurality of antennas(140-170). The data channel creation part(210) creates a data channel signal to be transmitted to the mobile terminal. The transmission mode selection part(220) receives a feedback signal for the downlink signal from the mobile terminal and determines a multi-antenna transmission mode to be used for the transmission of the downlink signal using the feedback signal. The combiner(230) combines the data channel signal, a common pilot signal, and a control signal, and creates the downlink signal. The antennas(140-170) output the downlink signal, transferred from the combiner(230), using a preset transmission angle.

본 발명은 실시간 오차 보정 기능을 가진 적응 배열 안테나 시스템에서의 송수신 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다. 이 송수신 장치에서의 전달함수는 모든 송수신 채널에 오차 보정 신호를 주입하고 그 신호가 송수신 채널을 통과한 후의 신호를 분석하는 방법으로 추정된다. 이 때, 오차 보정 신호로 RF 중간 주파수 톤 신호를 사용하여 기저대역에서 신호 처리하는 과정이 단순화될 수 있다. 또한, 수신 장치에서의 오차 보정에 있어서 모든 채널 수신 장치의 이득을 하나의 신호로 제어함으로써 수신 채널별 상대적인 전달함수 특성은 수신 장치의 이득과 관계없이 일정하다. 이는 오차 보정 계수 갱신 주기를 크게 하여 오차 보정 신호가 송수신 장치에 미치는 간섭 영향이 줄어든다. 스마트 안테나, 적응 배열 안테나 시스템, 실시간 오차 보정, 중간주파수 톤, 빔 형성, 전달 함수, AGC

The present invention utilizes a calibration signal weight vector as a response vector corresponding to a predetermined orientation angle of the antenna, thereby reducing an interference signal and enhancing a data communication effectively. The calibration method of an array antenna begins with generating a calibration signal in order to measure a transfer function of an array receiving means. A calibration signal vector is injected into the array receiver/transmitter, after multiplying a divided calibration signal and a predetermined weight vector corresponding to each channel together. The divided calibration signal is obtained by dividing the calibration signal by total number of channels. A calibration coefficient is obtained by using that the transfer function of each channel is estimated by analyzing the signal injected from the array receiver or transmitter. Finally, an interference signal is eliminated, by multiplying the received signal of a baseband and the calibration coefficient together.

Disclosed are an apparatus for forward beamforming using a terminal feedback and a method thereof. The base station estimates an angle of arrival (AOA) range of a user signal from reverse link received data and calculates a plurality of beamforming weights steering the estimated AOA range. Then, the base station transmits a user pilot signal by sequentially using the plurality of beamforming weights at different time areas through a control channel to estimate a forward channel conditions. A terminal calculates the user pilot signal power for all fingers at the respective time areas and feeds a time area number corresponding to the greatest power back to the base station. The base station transmits a data channel signal using a beamforming weight corresponding to the time area number fed back from the terminal.

This invention relates to a method and apparatus for increasing the performance of searcher by using the array antenna when the signal to interference plus noise ratio is low. The two-dimensional searcher performs the spatial-filtering to reduce the noise and interference components and then correlates the spatial-filtered signal with a pseudo noise (PN) code to thereby detect the incoming signals and acquire the corresponding code timings. Furthermore, the two-dimensional searcher can be used to increase the performance of a finger beamformer in two ways. One is to use searcher beamforming weight as initial finger beamforming weight to increase the convergence speed in the adaptive beamforming algorithms. The other is to reduce an amount of computation in the angle of arrival estimation algorithms by calculating the azimuth power spectrum only for the specific angle range.

PURPOSE: An apparatus for forming a forward beam using a multi-path information feedback and a method therefor are provided to reduce feedback data quantity and simplify a structure of a terminal by calculating an array response vector in a reverse direction in a base station, and receiving the strength of a common pilot signal and receiving only a fading characteristic of a forward channel in the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A searcher(203) matches and filters provided baseband digital data and detects a reverse multi-path. An arrival angle range measurer(204) estimates a plurality of angle regions which direct the multi-path direction detected in the searcher(203). An array receiver and demodulator(205) performs a space filtering of data received through an array antenna, and demodulates data fed back from a terminal. A forward beam forming weight value controller(207) calculates a plurality of transmission beam forming weight values which direct the angle regions estimated in the arrival angle range measurer(204), and selects one beam forming weight value for transmitting a data channel using feedback information of the terminal received from the array receiver and demodulator(205). A forward beam former and modulator(206) transmits the data channel using the beam forming weight value selected in the forward beam forming weight value controller(207), and transmits a control channel for grasping a forward channel characteristic successively using a plurality of transmission beam forming weight values.

PURPOSE: A CDMA base station system using array antenna, an apparatus for acquiring initial synchronization therein, and a method thereof are provided to acquire initial synchronization and an initial finger beam formation weight vector using an array antenna having a strong directivity. CONSTITUTION: A CDMA base station system using an array antenna(102) consists of a beam formation weight memory(101), the array antenna(102), an array receiving part(103), a searcher beam former(104), a controller(105), a reference beam pattern memory(106), an antenna response procession memory(107), a beam formation weight operator(108), a finger beam former(109), and a searcher block(110). The searcher beam former(104) forms more than one antenna beam having strong directivity using the array antenna(102). The antenna response procession memory(107) stores previously measured or calculated antenna response procession. The beam formation weight operator(108) calculates beam formation weight for each directional angle using an ideal beam pattern and the antenna response procession. The beam formation weight memory(101) stores the beam formation weight calculated for each directional angle and supplies it to the finger beam former(109). The searcher block(110), composed of a correlator(111) and a PN(Pseudo Noise) code generator(112), correlates the data received through a beam-formed antenna with a PN code.
