Abstract:
The present invention relates to processes and additive compositions capable of performing at least one of the following: a) stabilizing asphaltenes flocculated and/or precipitated in a petroleum product (as a crude oil, a residue or a fuel oil), rendering thus possible its blending with other petroleum products or its processing or its combustion; b) reducing fouling in petroleum apparatuses; c) achieving yield increase in petroleum refining and/or petrochemical operations; d) reducing particulate and/or SOx and/or NOx emissions during combustion of fuels; e) reducing fouling and/or coke formation in catalysts; f) favouring cleaning and/or decoking of petroleum apparatuses; g) reducing fouling arising from diesel and biodiesel fuels.
Abstract:
A fuels additive metallic salt composition effective in improving the operation of diesel engine particulate traps when added to a diesel fuel so as to provide 1-25 ppm metal in the fuel which comprises an oil soluble or oil dispersible overbased metal salt of an acidic organic compound, said salt composition containing 5-85 wt.% of a stoichiometric excess of metal over that required to neutralize the anionic portion of the salt, the metal being selected from the group consisting of Ca, Fe, Mg, Sr, Na, Ti, Zr, Mn, Zn and Ce.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for operating a marine or fixed diesel engine moved with different fuels having different S content, that is a high S-content fuel and a low S-content fuel. SOLUTION: The method for operating the marine or fixed diesel engine is to lubricate the engine with one cylinder lubricant fed to the marine or fixed diesel engine in a substantially certain amount. In the method, at least one overbasic detergent having >150mgKOH/g base value is added in operating the engine using a fuel having a S level requiring more base than that available from the cylinder lubricant. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixed metal catalyst additive which reduces the carbon particle emission in a hydrocarbon fuel burning system and improves the properties of slag and to provide a fuel composition containing it and a method for using it. SOLUTION: This additive for a hydrocarbon fuel is for a fuel composition and comprises a compound containing a transition metal, an alkali metal compound, and a compound containing magnesium. The method for using it in the hydrocarbon fuel burning system contains a step in which the additive is added to a fuel composition in a mount effective to improve the burning of the fuel composition and the properties of the slag. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive composition which is stable and effective for improving the quality of a gas released by the combustion of a diesel fuel. SOLUTION: The fuel additive iron salt composition is effective for improving the action of a diesel engine particulate substance trap when it is added to a diesel fuel so as to give an iron content of 1-25 ppm to the fuel. The composition contains an oil-soluble or oli-dispersible neutral or perbasic iron salt of an acidic organic compound. In the composition, 50-99 mol% of all the iron is in a ferric state, the balance being in a ferrous state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
Abstract:
Methods, a lubricant composition, and a fuel composition for lubricating a two-stroke internal combustion engine include a lubricant composition that contains (A) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (B) an additive composition comprising a condensation product of a fatty acid with an amine or ammonia and a further dispersant, and (C) a normally liquid solvent having a kinematic viscosity of less than 5 cSt at 100°C. The lubricant composition improves the cleanliness of a power valve of a two-stroke engine.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a fuel oil additive which can effectively improve the quality of fuel oil, comprising oil-soluble metal salt of organic acid having the general formula, MR, where R is organic acid radical, the corresponding organic acid is saturated or unsaturated fatty acid, naphthenic acid, aromatic acid, alkylphenol having (1-40) carbon atom; M is metal cation, the corresponding metal is alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, rare earth metal, transition metal, or the like, the present invention also provides fuel oil product with the fuel oil additive added to it, including oil such as gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, heavy oil, resids, and the like. The present invention especially provides gasoline antiknock agent is characterized by features such as effectiveness, economy, safe, non-polluting environment, undamaged to human body, and no adverse effect on parts of automobile engine, etc.
