Abstract:
A color uniformity system for correcting color uniformity problems that exist with today's display devices. A device to measure the color uniformity of the display device and software that uses the information from the measuring system to correct the color uniformity problem on the display device. Probe assembly has so many probes on it that is placed on the display and captures the color information on the display. Measuring assembly measures the color of the signal that comes from the probe assembly. Processor uses the color information from the measuring assembly and also communicates with the host system where the display device is driven from. Software resides on the host system and uses the stored color information to correct the color data that is applied to display device. Hardware unit that resides in the display device and performs color calculations if they are not done in the software.
Abstract:
An apparatus, methods, and systems for multi-color projection or display for video or lighting applications. One aspect of the present invention comprises an algorithm for utilizing at least four primary light sources to represent a projected pixel color. The algorithm and associated system can be applied to both a natively monochromatic light source or traditional light sources filtered for their colored components. The algorithm can be used for either color sequential or parallel modes of operation. The algorithm takes input pixel data represented in a universal color coordinate system, performs a color transform, and disperses the results among parallel display devices or sequentially to a single device such that each pixel is presented by the combination of four or more primaries.

An LED area illumination source/display (10) such as an electronic billboard is made up of a number of individual pixels with each pixel including a number of LEDs, e.g., a red (18), blue (19) and green LED (20), with each LED representing a primary color being arranged to be energized separately. At least one light sensor (22) is incorporated into the display for providing a measure of the light emitted from each LED representing a primary color in each pixel. The source/display (10) is susceptible of being self-calibrated by initially energizing the LEDs (18, 19, 20) at less than a maximum level and increasing the energization level as necessary during use to restore the original light output of degraded LEDs.

PURPOSE: A system for testing properties of a light source and a testing method using the same are provided to precisely test a light source by installing a shading member. CONSTITUTION: A method for testing properties of a light source is as follows. A calibration factor is calculated(S10). Multiple light source modules are installed in color sensors installed in a divided area to test the manufacturing state of light sources(S20). Light emitted from the light sources are measured using the color sensors(S30). A characteristic value of the light sources is calculated based on a data measured from the color sensors(S40).

A test pattern signal formation apparatus, a test pattern signal production method, a color measurement system and a display device are provided to determine whether the color specification on the display panel is performed to the colored light domain according to a test pattern on the display panel. A test pattern signal formation apparatus(10) outputs video signal showing the test pattern of the color chart of the standard of the second gamut which is broader than the first gamut in the display device and the test pattern of the color chart of the standard of the first gamut. A color chart recording unit(14) records information of the color chart of the standard of the first gamut and information of the color chart of the standard of the second gamut. A test pattern signal generating unit(11) generates the video signal showing the test pattern enumerating the color chart of each standard based on the information.
