Abstract:
An apparatus for chilling or freezing products which may be operated in the IQF and non-IQF modes, having conveyor for transporting products through a refrigeration medium, said conveyor having a top surface and a bottom surface, conveyor motor to move said conveyor; at least one agitation assembly comprising at least one cam attached to at least one camshaft, said at least one camshaft rotatably mounted below said bottom surface of said conveyor, such that the cam makes initial contact with the conveyor when its vertical component of velocity is at or near its maximum during each 360° rotation of the camshaft, and an independently controlled agitation motor operatively associated with the at least one agitation assembly to operate the agitation assembly to cause the agitation of the conveyor and the products thereon when said apparatus is operated in the IQF mode. An apparatus for chilling or freezing products comprising a conveyor and at least one mobile side guide contacting the conveyor.
Abstract:
A plant for pallet-stacking, comprising: an unstacking device (2) for removing single items (C) making up a pallet; a stacking device (4) for receiving single items (C) which make up an order to be stacked on a pallet; an automatic store (3), comprising a plurality of shelves or trays (30) predisposed to contain ordered rows of items (C); the shelves or trays (30) being stockable internally of the automatic store (3) and being commandably transferable between a loading position or station, in which the shelves of trays (30) receive the items (C) coming from the unstacking device (2), and an unloading position or station, in which the items (C) are supplied to the stacking device (4). The automatic store (3) is predisposed to identify the items (C) and/or the position of the items (C) on the shelves or trays (30) in the automatic store in order to enable a selection of the items (C) to be placed in outlet according to an order.
Abstract:
A holder with an integral gripper for transporting a flexible pouch during manufacturing is provided that includes a base plate, and a pair of opposed support members pivotally attached to the base plate. Each support member includes an upper leg member having a gripping means and a lower leg member. A moveable plate is parallel to and spaced apart from the base member by a spring member, and the moveable plate supports an outer end of the lower leg of the support member, so that walls of a flexible pouch are held in tension when the flexible pouch is supported by the gripping means. The walls of the flexible pouch are separated when the support members are pivoted inwardly.
Abstract:
The invention provides novel mechanisms and methods for effecting rotational and translational motion in three dimensions of objects carried by, or coupled to, actuators that move along a pathway. Vehicles or other conveyances (collectively, "vehicles") that utilize mechanisms and methods can increase the performance of and decrease the cost of transportation, shipping, manufacturing, materials handling and other systems. In one aspect, the illustrated embodiment provides such a vehicle or other conveyance having two (or more) actuators adapted for movement along a pathway. The actuators are propelled or otherwise capable of motion, relative to each other so that the distance between can be increased or decreased. When desired, that distance can also be maintained the same, e.g., regardless of whether the actuators are moving. A pallet, carriage or other moveable part (collectively, pallet) is moveably coupled to the actuators so that at least selected motions by the actuators relative to one another on the pathway effect rotational and/or translational motion of the pallet in three dimensions relative to the pathway, including, for example, movement transverse to the pathway and out of a plane of the pathway.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A fitting (10) for the base of a container (11) arranged such that, when fitted thereto, a peripheral part of the fitting (10) and a peripheral part of the container (10) towards the upper end thereof present first and second points of contact aligned along a vertical line. The fitting (10) and container (11) together thus provide an assembly having a desired shape to facilitate handling in automatic filling and capping machinery. Fittings (10) may be subsequently joined together to form part of secondary packaging for holding an array of containers (10) together.

Abstract:
A bucket conveying machine is disclosed which comprises a first working conveyor (10) having a first upstream end (20) and a second downstream end (22), said first conveyor (10) being adapted to convey a plurality of buckets (50) resting freely thereon from said first end (20) to said second end, a second return conveyor (60) adapted to return buckets from the second end (22) of said first conveyor to the first end thereof, drive means for driving said first and second conveyors, first transfer means (26) for transferring buckets from the first conveyor to the second conveyor at the second end (22), and second transfer means (24) for transferring buckets from the second conveyor to the first conveyor at the first end. The invention also comprehends a device (90) for controlling the position of one or more buckets on a conveyor.
Abstract:
A conveyor (26) includes a first segment (26a) extending in a drive plane (P), then wraps around a portion of a drive sprocket (40), extends back upstreman and around a portion of an idler sprocket (46) and then includes a second segment (26b) transversly adjacent the first segment within the drive plane. A guide (42) positioned over the drive plane for directing the specimen carriers (20) from the first segment to the second segment.
