Abstract:
An epoxy resin composition comprising an epoxy compound represented by the formula (1): wherein Ar1, Ar2 and Ar3 each denotes any one of divalent groups represented by the following formulas: a curing agent and an alumina powder, wherein the alumina powder is a mixture of an alumina (A) having D50 of 2 μm or more and 100 μm or less, an alumina (B) having D50 of 1 μm or more and 10 μm or less, and an alumina (C) having D50 of 0.01 μm or more and 5 μm or less, in which D50 is a particle size at 50% cumulation from the smallest particle side of a weight cumulative particle size distribution, and the content of the alumina (A), that of the alumina (B) and that of the alumina (C) are respectively 50% by volume or more and 90% by volume or less, 5% by volume or more and 40% by volume or less, and 1% by volume or more and 30% by volume or less, based on the volume of the alumina powder (provided that the total % by volume of the alumina (A), the alumina (B) and the alumina (C) is 100% by volume).
Abstract:
The present invention is an improved PVB composition comprising an adhesion control agent which is a mixture of potassium and magnesium salts in a ratio of from about 0.05:1 to about 5:1, by weight, potassium salts to magnesium salts. The present invention also describes a method for improved control of adhesion of PVB to glass.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a stabilizer composition for halogen-containing thermoplastic resins, the stabilizer composition comprising (a) calcium hydroxide and/or calcium oxide which may optionally be surface-modified; and (b) a hydroxyl group-containing isocyanurate. This stabilizer composition is particularly suited for weather-resistant halogen-containing resin compositions, such as rigid PVC.
Abstract:
A flame-retardant resin composition comprises 25 to 150 parts by weight of (B) a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, 5 to 40 parts by weight of (C) a phosphinic acid compound comprising a salt of at least one member selected from the group consisting of a phosphinic acid, a diphosphinic acid, and a polymerized product thereof, and 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of (D) an epoxy compound, relative to 100 parts by weight of (A) a polybutylene terephthalate-series resin. Such a flame-retardant resin composition is useful for various molded products and for covering the surface of an electric wire, or the like. The present invention provides a halogen-free flame-retardant resin composition which has a high heat resistance and a high flame retardancy and is excellent in hydrolysis resistance, abrasion resistance, and moldability (e.g., extrusion properties).
Abstract:
Clarified polyolefins such as polypropylene are used widely to make polymer articles, containers, and the like. Such articles may be manufactured by the injection of molten polymer into a mold or forming device in manufacturing processes at high rates. A clarified composition is provided to achieve optimized clarity and organoleptic performance at lower processing temperatures and/or within a polypropylene resin having a higher melt flow rate.
Abstract:
This invention provides film-forming compositions, including but not limited to polishes, coatings, adhesives and inks, comprising a at least one acrylic or vinyl acetate polymer or copolymer as a film-forming ingredient and, as the plasticizer, a blend in specified proportions of a) the benzoate of a 6-carbon monohydric alcohol, b) diethylene glycol dibenzoate and c) diethylene glycol monobenzoate.
Abstract:
A curable composition and a method of rendering a base material or a shaped item antifouling comprising coating or impregnating a surface of the base material with the curable composition comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane having functional groups capable of condensation reaction at both molecular terminals thereof and (B) a hydrophobic silica wherein the hydrophobic silica (B) is thermally treated together with the organipolysiloxane (A).
Abstract:
A curable silicone resin composition is provided. It includes (A) an aromatic ring-containing hydrocarbon compound containing at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, in which the silicon atoms are bonded to the hydrocarbon skeleton; (B) an organopolysiloxane with a branched or three dimensional network structure, and with a viscosity at 25° C. of at least 1,000 mPa·s, having an average composition formula (1): R1xSiO{(4−x)/2} (1) wherein, R1 independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyloxy group, or a hydroxyl group, provided from 0.1 to 80 mol % of all the R1 groups are alkenyl groups, and x represents a positive number that satisfies 1≦x
