Abstract: PURPOSE: An adaptive sorting table for entropy coding is provided to reduce complexity due to frequent table updating. CONSTITUTION: Whether a sorting table is updated or not is determined by using the information including symbol value and code number of peripheral blocks. A table index with a high incidence is mapped in a small code number. The sorting table is updated. The updated table is used for the next symbol value.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An intra prediction mode encoding/decoding method and an apparatus thereof are provided to increase image encoding/decoding efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A decoding unit extracts prediction mode information(S1310). The decoding unit extracts an intra prediction mode about a decoding unit by using the extracted prediction mode information. The decoding unit performs intra prediction about the decoding unit based on the extracted intra prediction mode(S1320). The decoding unit extracts an MPM candidate about the decoding unit.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An encoding/decoding apparatus of an audio signal and a method thereof are provided to reduce the size of the encoded audio frame by converting a mute section into a flag type of low capacity. CONSTITUTION: In case an audio signal is in non-mute interval, an audio encoding unit(120) encodes the non-mute speech frame. The audio encoding unit generates a non-mute frame. A mute frame generating unit(130) generates a mute frame of a flag type. An audio frame generating unit(140) combines the non-mute frame and the mute frame.
