Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating waste water generated during the nitration reaction of toluene. SOLUTION: This method comprises the steps of: (a) mixing acidic waste water and alkaline waste water from a washing step (1) with a water-soluble distillate from a sulfuric acid concentrating step (2) and adjust the pH of the obtained mixture to COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing a nitro-substituted, nitroso-substituted or azoxy-substituted aromatic compound from an amino- substituted aromatic compound and hydrogen peroxide. SOLUTION: The method for producing the nitro-substituted, nitroso- substituted or azoxy-substituted aromatic compound comprises carrying out a reaction between the amino-substituted aromatic compound and hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst which is prepared by reaction between hydrogen peroxide and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of metallic tungsten, metallic molybdenum, a tungsten compound made from tungsten and a group IIIb, IVb, Vb, or VIb element (except oxygen) and a molybdenum compound made from molybdenum and a group IIIb, IVb, Vb or VIb element (except oxygen). NEW MATERIAL:1,3-Diamino-2,4-diisopropylbenzene. USE:A raw material for isocyanates, epoxy resins, bismaleimides etc., or a curing agent giving moderate curing rate esp. when used as a curing agent for urethane RIM. PREPARATION:A 3,5-diisopropyl-1,2-dihalogenobenzene selectively prepared by diisopropylation between (A) an o-dihalogenobenzene and (B) an isopropyl halide, propylene or isopropanol is put to dinitration followed by reduction- dehalogenation, thus easily obtaining the objective 1,3-diamino-2,4- diisopropylbenzene in high efficiency. When the present compound is used for urethane RIM, films with excellent physical properties can be produced in good formability.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and safe nitrating agent having nitrating effects especially in the presence of Lewis acid, comprising trimethylsilyl nitrate. CONSTITUTION:A nitrating agent comprising a compound shown by the formula is obtained. By using the nitrating agent, nitration can be carried out as a homogeneous system even in a nonpolar organic solvent such as CCl4, THF, CH3CN, DMF or sulfolane. In this case, the aimed substance can be readily obtained since the solvent can be simply distilled under reduced pressure after nitrating reaction. For example, NO2 group can be readily introduced into a crown ether having complex structure in CCl4. The compound shown the formula can be readily prepared from inexpensive raw materials and further since the compound is flame-retardant, the compound has merit of small degree of danger of explosion.

PURPOSE:To readily obtain a compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for medicines and agricultural chemicals in high purity and yield by oxidizing and converting amino group of aminotrifluoromethyltoluene into nitro group. CONSTITUTION:Amino group of aminotrifluoromethyltoluene is subjected to oxidative reaction using an organic peracid, hydrogen peroxide-organic acid or hydrogen peroxide-organic acid anhydride at 0-100 deg.C temperature for 3-100hr to provide nitrotrifluoromethyltoluene. Performic, peracetic acids, etc., are cited as the organic peracid which is an oxidizing agent. Hydrogen peroxide in 3-95% concentration is used in the hydrogen peroxide-organic acid or hydrogen peroxide-organic acid anhydride. The nitrotrifluoromethyltoluene is especially useful as an intermediate for hypotensive agents, tranquilizers or herbicides.
