    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyimide resin composition containing, e.g. a polyimide having a specified structure and a polyether pyridine having a specified structure and excellent in melt molding properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, mechanical strength and cumulative fatigue properties. CONSTITUTION:This resin composition contains (A) 99.9 to 50 pts.wt. polyimide having a repeating a structural unit of formula I (X is direct bond, isopropylidene, thio, etc.; R is a 2 to 27C aliphatic, an alicyclic, a condensed aromatic polycycle, etc.) and (B) 0.1 to 50 pts.wt. polyimide having a structural unit of formula II (R1 is a tetravalent group of formula III or IV), a polyimide having a structural unit of formula V and/or a polyether pyridine having a repeating structural unit of formula VI (Y is a bivalent group such as p-phenyl, biphenyl, etc.).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as a raw material, etc., for polyimides used as insulating materials, etc., of multilayered circuit boards excellent in low dielectric properties and molding processability by reducing 3,3'-dinitro-5,5'-bis(trifluoromethyl)diphenyl ether. CONSTITUTION:3-Hydroxy-5-nitrotrifluoromethylbenzene expressed by formula I is reacted with 3,5-dinitrotrifluoromethylbenzene expressed by formula II in the presence of a base in an aprotic polar solvent to provide 3,3'-dinitro-5,5'- bis(trifluoromethyl)diphenyl ether expressed by formula III, which is then subjected to reducing reaction at 50-60 deg.C in methanol in hydrogen atmosphere using Pd/C catalyst for 8hr and subsequently filtered. The resultant filtrate is then concentrated under reduced pressure to afford light yellow crystals, which are converted into hydrochloride and purified. Thereby, the objective 3,3'-diamino-5,5'-bis(trifluoromethyl)diphenyl ether expressed by formula IV is obtained.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is 8-30C aliphatic hydrocarbon group). USE:A resin modifier, a stabilizer, a mold-releasing agent for thermosetting resins such as unsaturated polyester and epoxy resin, etc. PREPARATION:The objective compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a mercapto compound of formula II with a halogenated compound of formula III (X is halogen) in the presence of a base (e.g. NaOH, KOH, NaHCO3 and Na2CO3). The amount of the base is >=3 mol, preferably 3-4mol based on 1mol of the compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is easily soluble in organic solvent and is excellent e.g. as a mold-releasing agent for the molding of a resin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a new aromatic diamino compound extremely useful as a raw material for polyimide, etc., having low dielectric constant and excellent moldability and to provide an aromatic dinitro compound useful as a precursor of the diamino compound. CONSTITUTION:The 1,3- or 1,4-bis(3-nitro-5-trifluoromethylphenoxy)benzene expressed by formula I and 1,3- or 1,4-bis(3-amino-5-trifluoromethylphenoxy) benzene expressed by formula II. The compound of formula I can be produced by condensing 3,5-dinitrobenzotrifluoride with resorcinol or hydroquinone in the presence of a base in an aprotic polar solvent. Reduction of the compound of formula I gives the compound of formula II. A polyimide resin usable as an insulation material of a flexible printed circuit board for a highly integrated electronic circuit can be produced by condensing the compound of formula II with 2,2-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane dianhydride.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R is 8-24C aliphatic saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group; R is 1-5C alkyl; (n) is 1-10; (m) is 0-5). EXAMPLE:N,N'-Dimethyl-N,N'-distearylethylenediamine. USE:The compound shown by formula I shows ready solubility in resin raw materials and organic solvents, useful as a mold release material, especially as an internal mold release agent. PREPARATION:A secondary amine shown by formula II is allowed to react with an alkyl halide shown by the formula R-X (X is halogen) in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent to give the objective compound shown by formula I.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a polyimide which is essentially thermoplastic and has excellent properties by using a long-chain aromatic diamine composed of four benzene rings, one pyridine nucleus or benzonitrile nucleus bonded to each other through specified organic groups as a monomer component. CONSTITUTION: A hydroxy aromatic amino compound such as 2-(4- aminophenyl)-2-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)propane is condensed with a dihalogenopyridine or a dihalogenobenzonitrile to obtain an aromatic diamino compound represented by formula I (wherein L is O, carbpnyl or isopropylidene; X is a group of formula II or III; and Ar is a 6-27 C aromatic group), An aromatic diamine component based on this compound is reacted with an aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride to make a polyamic acid. This acid is imidated thermally or chemically to obtain a polyimide comprising repeating units of formula IV. The new polyimide which is one having a specified structure having a pyridine nucleus or a benzonitrile nucleus is essentially thermoplastic and is an injection-moldable material of excellent processability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an amorphous polyimide not only excellent in heat resistance but also having a good moldability by reacting a specific arom. diamine with a tetracarboxylic dianhydride and imidizing the resulting polyamic acid. CONSTITUTION:An arom. diamine of formula I (wherein X is a direct bond, 0, or S; and R1, R2, R3, and R4 each is or CH3) is reacted with a tetrcarboxylic dianhydride component mainly comprising a dianhydride of formula II (wherein Ar is a tetravalent noncondensed polycyclic arom. group formed by linking 6-27C monocyclic arom. groups to each other directly or through linking members) to give a polyamic acid, which is imidized thermally or chemically to give an amorphous polyimide having, as the essential structural units, at least one kind of repeating structural units of formula III (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and Ar each is the same as described above). Thus obtd. polyimide has an excellent melt flow stability and a greatly improved moldability in addition to the high heat resistance inherent in a polyimide.
