본 발명은 컨텐츠 변환 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 외부로부터 입력되는 컨텐츠인 제1 방송 규격의 방송 스트림을 역다중화하여 오디오 스트림, 비디오 스트림, 및 데이터 스트림으로 분리하는 역다중화부; 상기 오디오 스트림의 부호화 포맷을 방송하고자 하는 제2 방송 규격에 따른 부호화 포맷으로 변환시키고, 상기 데이터 스트림의 방송 서비스 포맷을 제2 방송 규격에 따른 서비스 포맷으로 변환시키는 변환부; 제2 방송 규격에 따른 프로토콜 스트림을 제공하는 프로토콜 서버; 및 상기 변환된 오디오 스트림 및 데이터 스트림 그리고 비디오 스트림과 상기 프로토콜 서버로부터 제공되는 프로토콜 스트림을 다중화하여 하나의 전송 스트림을 생성하는 다중화부를 포함한다. 이러한 본 발명에 따르면, 다른 규격의 컨텐츠를 복호화하지 않고 방송하고자 하는 규격으로 변환시켜 사용함으로써, 방송 품질을 저하시키지 않고 서로 다른 규격을 사용하는 방송 시스템간에 컨텐츠를 공유할 수 있다.

PURPOSE: A device and a method of photorefractive recording medium fabrication and a device and a method of 3-dimensional holographic display using the same are provided to use the photorefractive recording medium as a fringe diffraction field, thereby eliminating a computation time for a real-time computer-generated hologram upon display and enabling real-time vertical and horizontal hologram display with high resolution. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(10) controls point holograms for all coordinates of a virtual space to be respectively multiplexed and recorded in a photorefractive recording medium(15). A light source unit(11) cuts off and transmits beams and expands widths of transmitted laser beams under control of the control unit(10). A beam splitter(12) optically splits the laser beams of which the widths are expanded into an object beam and a reference beam. An object beam processing unit(13) cuts off or transmits the object beam, generates point holograms for all coordinates in the virtual space by spatially modulating the transmitted object beam, and then records the object beam in the photorefractive recording medium(15) by reducing the object beam to have a recordable beam width, under control of the control unit(10). A reference beam processing unit(14) varies the reference beam when recording the point holograms in the photorefractive recording medium(15) to have a different incident angle. A display unit(1) enlarges the holograms recorded in the optical photorefractive recording medium(15) to an observable size.

PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting system using a multi-antenna and a method therefor are provided to enhance a diversity gain by combining signals transmitted from a transmission device through a plurality of receiving antennas and one signal processor. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of receiving antennas(207) receive digital broadcasting signals transmitted from a plurality of transmitting antennas(206). A plurality of frequency down-converters and digital demodulators(208) convert RF(Radio Frequency) signals received through the receiving antennas(207) into baseband signals. A plurality of channel estimators(209) estimate channels from the respective baseband signals. A signal processor(210) combines the received signals with the channel characteristics estimated in the channel estimators(209), and obtains a diversity gain. An error correction decoder(211) corrects the error of the output signal of the signal processor(210), and recovers a digital data series. A demultiplexer and source decoder(212) divides the digital data series recovered through the error correction decoder(211) into image signals, voice signals and additional data, and decompresses compressed signals.

Disclosed is a system and method for sending and receiving information of digital cable broadcasting, which comprises: a headend unit for assigning a packet identifier (PID) from within a range of PIDs to tables carrying data according to inclusion of service information (SI), constructing a transport packet (TP), and sending it using an MPEG communication method; and a receiving unit for receiving the TP from the headend unit, checking the PID of the TP to determine whether the TP includes SI, and determining how to process the TP depending on inclusion states of SI in the TP. The PID discriminates a TP including SI from a TP including other messages in transmission of MPEG-2 TPs from the headend unit to the receiving unit.

PURPOSE: A system for managing a package service in digital cable broadcasting and a method therefor are provided to remotely apply for the package service provided from a cable broadcasting provider and release the package service. CONSTITUTION: A headend unit(110) collects various information, and composes collected information as a broadcasting signal. A host(120) receives the broadcasting signal and bidirectional service information of the headend unit(110), and executes a package application program for providing a package service. A conditional access module(130) analyzes data received through an in-band channel or an out-band channel and conditional access data, and performs a conditional access operation so that a user watches or does not watch a channel composing a corresponding package using a key in which a message about package application and release is encoded. An operation/management unit(140) composes package association information as package configuration information, transmits package configuration information to the host(120) or the conditional access module(130), and records package service information of the user. A conditional access unit(150) generates an ECM(Entitlement Control Message) and an EMM(Entitlement Management Message) with respect to each channel-classified charged channel, transmits the ECM and the EMM to the conditional access module(130) through the headend unit(110), and transmits an encoded key of a subscriber according to the request of the conditional access module(130).

PURPOSE: An object-based 3-dimensional audio system and a method for controlling the same are provided to allow the listener selectively to listen the desired audio as well as to improve the reality and the actuality. CONSTITUTION: An object-based 3-dimensional audio system includes an audio input block(200), an audio edit/manufacture block(300) and an audio coding block(400). The audio input block(200) receives the object-based audio sound through various input devices. The audio edit/manufacture block(300) converts the audio sounds into the 3-dimensional audio scene information by dividing the audio sound into the object sound and the background sound based on the user's selection. And, the audio coding block(400) transmits the 3-dimensional information and object signal of the signal converted at the audio edit/manufacture block(300) through the media.

PURPOSE: A motion estimation device using an adaptive pattern in a video image compression system is provided to determine a pattern used for searching based on a previous searching result, and to adaptively determine a horizontal search pattern and a vertical search pattern, thereby improving a calculation amount and calculation speed as improving accuracy in motion estimation. CONSTITUTION: A motion estimation portion(807) transmits a driving signal to a pattern determining portion(806). The pattern determining portion(806) applies the driving signal to a pattern memory portion(805). The pattern memory portion(805) receives a search pattern. The search pattern transmitted to the pattern memory portion(805) is retransmitted to the motion estimation portion(807) for performing a searching process. The motion estimation portion(807) transmits a search pattern to be used in a next step to the pattern determining portion(806) and the pattern memory portion(805) through the driving signal according to a searched result.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for adapting an audio signal according to a user reference is provided to adapt one audio content to different environment and an user's various tastes by using the user sound field information and the user sound environment information. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for adapting an audio signal according to a user reference includes a user environment information management unit(107) and an audio adaptation unit(103). The user environment information management unit(107) collects, describes, and manages the audio environment information from a user terminal for consuming audio signals. The audio adaptation unit(103) adapts the audio signals in order to output the audio signals corresponding to the audio environment information to the user terminal. The audio environment information includes the user characteristic information to describe the user's reference to the sound field.
