Abstract:
The invention refers to a slow-down mechanism that prevents moving furniture units like covers, doors, etc. hitting the other side and making noise in cases of fast opening and closing actions towards fixed furniture units and thus enabling soft opening and closing actions for such moving furniture units, comprised of at least an arm (2), a bowl (3) and a internal and external knuckle element (6, 5) connecting the arm and bowl, and located inside the hinge. The invention refers especially to the capability to canceling the damper (18) belonging to the above-mentioned slow-down mechanism inside the hinge (1) and adjusting the damper's stroke depending on the weight of the moving furniture.
Abstract:
An improved lead screw actuator for use in applications including power vehicle windows is provided that significantly reduces the amount of machining that must be performed on the lead screw to enable secure attachment of a gear or pulley. The lead screw has a plurality of threads on its outer annular surface and a first and second axially spaced circumferential groove. A gear or pulley disposed about the lead screw has a female thread formed into an inner annular surface that is configured to engage at least one of the plurality of threads of the lead screw between the first and second grooves. A pair of rings are disposed within the first and second grooves in order to restrict axial movement of the gear or pulley on the lead screw.
Abstract:
A hinge for use in a motor vehicle, including first and second members pivotably coupled to each other. First and second position retainers are coupled between the first member and the second member to releasably secure the second member in a first holding position relative to the first member. The first position retainer has a first holding portion and the second position retainer has a second holding portion such that one of the first and second position retainers is structured and arranged to move relative to the other of the first and second position retainers such that the first and second holding portions move into and out from a first holding position. The first and second holding portions are structured and arranged to be releasably secured to each other in the first holding position.
Abstract:
A power drive assembly for a rear lift gate assembly of a vehicle includes a screw drive having a screw member and a clutch supported by the screw member.
Abstract:
A device for adjusting a window regulator in a vehicle door, having a profiled base element (110) positonable on a lower section of the vehicle door and provided with a first elongate hole (111b) in its lower side and a second elongate hole (111a) in its upper side. A slider (112) slidingly moves within the base element (110) and includes a hole (113) aligned with the first elongate hole (111b). A screw extends through the hole (113) in the slider and the first elongate hole (111b) aligned therewith. A bolt (116) is fixedly attachable to the window regulator extending through the second elongate hole (111a) and includes a threaded rod engaging the threading of screw (114). The screw (114) can be turned from a first position, in which it does not engage the slider (112), to a second position, in which it engages the slider (112) with the first screw end (114b). The device provides for simple compensation of tolerances in connection with the vehicle door and for the window regulator.
Abstract:
A braking apparatus has a main body for connection to one of a frame and a closure member mounted on the frame to undergo linear reciprocating movement between open and closed positions of the closure member. A tubular shaft is mounted in a main body for undergoing rotation. A resistance member is rotatably mounted on the tubular shaft and is disposed in an interior space of the main body containing a braking fluid. A spiral rod for connection to the other of the frame and the closure member is screw-threadably engaged with the tubular shaft so that the tubular shaft undergoes rotation when the spiral rod and the tubular shaft are relatively moved in an axial direction of the spiral rod. When the closure member undergoes linear reciprocating movement, the main body or spiral rod relatively moves in the axial direction of the spiral rod, the tubular shaft and the resistance member undergo rotational movement, and the resistance member receives a resistance of the braking fluid so that the tubular shaft rotates under a braking force of the braking fluid and reduces a movement speed of the closure member.
Abstract:
A pop-in extended travel single roller for patio doors is retained in the patio door track by no mechanical device. This is accomplished by mounting the roller assembly into a pre-fabricated opening, the width of which is slightly larger than the over-all basic width of the outer housing. Protrusions on the side of the outer housing, after passing through the opening, retain the roller in the proper position. This feature eliminates the need for mechanical fasteners thereby saving costs of parts and labor. This assembly also provides for increased over-all height adjustment range aids the ease of removal of the movable panel of the patio door assembly through the use of an adjusting screw.
Abstract:
Door operator for opening, closing and locking at least one door panel on a transit vehicle. The door operator has at least one base portion for mounting on the vehicle and at least one fixed support member attached to the base portion. The door operator has door hangers for attachment of the door panel to the fixed support member and moveable door support members attached to the door hangers. The moveable door support members engage the fixed support member to support the door panel while permitting opening and closing motions of the panel. The operator includes at least one door drive having a base mounted portion and a hanger mounted portion engaging the base mounted portion to be moved thereby to move the panel in opening and closing directions. The operator has a lock for securing the door panel in a closed position, the lock having a lock shaft which includes at least one primary lock device for preventing motion of the base mounted door drive portion and at least one secondary lock device engaging one of the door hangers. The lock includes a lock shaft engaging mechanism which rotates the lock shaft to a locking position when the door panel is closed. The lock also has an unlocking actuator for unlocking the door panel, the unlocking actuator having a moveable portion connected to the lock shaft to rotate the lock shaft to the unlocking position.
Abstract:
A variable pitch screw is manufactured by twisting a prepared blank to the desired shape. The blank varies along its length such that it naturally twists to the desired shape.
Abstract:
A bifold door assembly includes two foldable door panels disposed in edge adjacent relation in a door closed position and including vertically spaced hinges connected adjacent center edges of the two panels and allowing folding motion of the panels between a longitudinally aligned closed position and alternative forward and rear pivoted side by side laterally extending open positions. Each of the door panels has an upper hinge member adjacent an outer edge of the respective panel and pivotable on carrier movable along a longitudinal upper track from a first position near one end of the track to a second position spaced inward from an opposite end of the track. At least one of the door panels also has a lower hinge member adjacent an outer edge of the respective panel and pivotably connected with carrier movable along a longitudinal lower track from a first position near one end of the track to a second position spaced longitudinally from said one end of the track. The door is capable of opening motion from either side by folding the door panels toward an opposite side by track guided longitudinal motion of the carrier of one of the panels with simultaneous pivoting motion of both panels about their hinge members while the carrier of the other panel remains stationary.
