Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a taste-masked microcapsule composition of a water-soluble drug, which can effectively mask the taste and immediately releases the drug, when passing through the mouth of a patient. SOLUTION: This taste-masked microcapsule composition of a water-soluble drug, the composition comprising microcapsules of the water-soluble drug (ranitidine such as H2 antagonist) in a polymeric material consisting essentially of one or more polymers selected from the group consisting of ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate phthalate, cellulose acetate butyrate, polymethacrylates, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose phthalate; carboxymethyl ethylcellulose; polylactic acid and combinations thereof, said polymeric material constituting approximately 30 wt.% to 65 wt.% of the composition. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize obstruction in the surgery field by linking a second link means to a first link means rotatably mounted freely on a base support means and an apparatus holding member to maintain the remote center of the spherical rotation of an apparatus at a desired position. SOLUTION: A first link means 21 is rotatably mounted freely on a base plate 26 and rotated freely about the X-X axis. A second link means 23 is rotatably connected freely to the first link means 21 and is made movable within a plane parallel with the first link means 21. Linked to link members 11-15 and pivot joints 16-20, a part of a link member 13 is extended beyond the pivot 20 of a parallelogrammic link part. An apparatus 61 for operation is held at one end of the link member 13 to make a working end. A drive end is formed at the link member 12. Thus, in the structure of the parallelogrammic link part, the remote center of a desired spherical rotation of the apparatus 61 can be maintained on a rotating shaft of the first link means 21.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an improved probe which can be inserted into a cavity of a human body by using an endoscope device with a probe tied to a control housing by a tube. CONSTITUTION: A camera in a control unit 38 comprises elements of a closed circuit TV device including a visible display means 40 to visibly display an object in the view field of the objective lens. The eyepiece 42 can be tied with an endoscope visual device through an optical coupler 34 to enable a user to directly view by separating an optical fiber cable 36. When the probe is to be inserted into a cavity of the human body, it is preferable to use an eyepiece 42. A deflection control means in a usual structure can be used to control bending of a tube 14 neighboring the probe 10. A linear converter row 70 is included in a pulse type ultrasonic B scanning imaging device to act in a linear beam scanning mode reverse to scanning of sectors. A converter array 70 comprising 64 elements can be used and, in that case, 64 microminiature coaxial cables 86 are used to connect the converting elements to a B scanning transceiver 90.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve response time and sensitivity by including detection, counter, and reference electrodes provided on a substrate and an active region of the substrate surface and securing a gap clearly between the detection and counter electrodes, between the detection and reference electrodes, and between the counter and reference electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A micro-sensor 10 has a substrate 12 with an active region 16 where an electrochemical reaction occurs and a substrate surface 14. A detection electrode 18 is provided on the substrate surface 14 and has a detection part 20 on the region 16. The detection part 20 has an inward surface 22 that faces the surface 14 and an outward surface 24 at the opposite side of the surface 14 and a plurality of outward extended parts 26 are formed on a surface 24. Then, a counter electrode 30 contacts an electrolyte medium 28 but does not contact the electrode 18. Then, a reference electrode 32 may contact the medium 28 but does not contact the electrodes 18 and 30. Then, a gap of approximately 50μm or less is formed between the electrodes 18 and 30, a gap 36 with approximately 100μm or less is formed between the electrodes 18 and 32, and a gap 38 is formed between the electrodes 32 and 30, thus improving response time and sensitivity.
