Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a variable capacitor including a conductive layer disposed in a cavity having a desired shape. SOLUTION: In the method, a variable capacitor is formed, the variable capacitor including a conductive strip covering the inside of a cavity, and an elastic conductive film disposed on the cavity. The cavity is formed by a step of forming a concave portion in a substrate; a step of disposing a beatable material in the concave portion; a step of placing a die on the substrate at a level of the concave portion to give a desirable shape to an upper portion of the beatable material; a step of hardening the beatable material; and a step of removing the die. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-manufacture micro electromechanical system having high deformability. SOLUTION: This micro electromechanical system has a beam 1, and an electrode 10 coupled with the beam by an electrostatic interaction. The beam is configured to be elastically deformed by bending, and has an approximately constant cross section. The beam 1 extends across an overall length L of the beam, and comprises four flat faces P 1 -P 4 having thickness smaller than outside dimensions w, t of the cross section. Therefore, bending vibration frequency of the beam 1 becomes larger than that of a solid beam with the same outside dimension. This micro electromechanical system is suitable for the usage requiring a very short transition time, namely for manufacturing a high frequency oscillator and resonator. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for controlling a matrix display comprising light emitting diodes making it possible to continuously select lines of a screen, to select columns for the respective lines of one set of the selected lines and to set the voltage of the selected column at an operating voltage. SOLUTION: The circuit includes a device of regulating the precharge voltage by enabling precharging of at least the selected column to the precharge voltage before the selection of each line from one set of the lines. The device includes a measurement circuit to enable the measurement of the maximum operating voltage from among the operating voltages of the selected columns every time the line is selected from one set of the lines. The circuit enables the holding of the maximum operating voltage and enables the regulation of the precharge voltage based on the held maximum operating voltage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method which overcomes a stationary restriction having an adverse effect upon conventional techniques. SOLUTION: Firstly, the color information of an image relating to an examinee is extracted by an image extracting apparatus. A visually associated region is then detected. The gray scale of the extracted image is then normalized on the basis of the visually associated region to correct the exposure of the extracted image. A region corresponding to the skin of the photographed examinee is also identified, and the region is used as a visually concerned region in a step of exposure correction.
