Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a process for operating a burner fed with liquid fuel in which operating time of the burner can be prolonged without causing any failure. CONSTITUTION: A process for operating a burner 2 fed with liquid fuel, in particular a vaporization burner of a heater in which preferably, a motor add-on heater is involved. In the operating method, after the burner has been in steady state operation for a predetermined time period, the fuel feed is briefly interrupted. The predetermined time period of steady state operation of the burner is preferably about 5 to 20 minutes, while the fuel feed is interrupted for about 5 to 25 seconds. With this operating process, deposits on the burner can be reduced so that the service life of the burner can be considerably increased.

The electronic drive device 3 controls the motor voltage of the motor 2 such that a motor voltage is held at a constant value. This constitution ensures constant speed actuation of a combustion air fan and provides a stable combustion value throughout a wide range.

A burner insert 5 is disposed in the downstream of the vortex body 3, intruded into a combustion chamber 7 consisting of combustion pipes 6. The combustion pipe 6 is surrounded by a heat exchanger 8, and the heat exchanger 8 is surrounded with an external casing 9. Combustion gas generated in the combustion chamber 7 flows through a space 18 between the combustion pipes 6 and the heat exchanger 8 and flows out through an exhaust gas exhaust port 12. In this case, a muffler insert 13 having two hollow bodies 14 is disposed in the discharge port 12, to achieve in particular, silencing of low frequency combustion noise.

The outer peripheral surface 8 of the press-fit bush 4 has protrusions 9 formed in tooth shape and arranged in such a way as to act reversely to the fastening direction of the fixing screw 5. The equipment 1 can therefore be fixed to a recessed wall in a cabin without being deformed.
