Abstract: PURPOSE: A biaxially oriented polyester white film is provided, to improve surface characteristic by imparting different surface characteristic to front and back surfaces, whiteness and coverage. CONSTITUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester white film comprises a glossy layer (A layer) which has a 60 degree gloss of 100 % or more and comprises a polyester resin layer; a B layer which comprises 5-30 wt% of an inorganic particle and 0.05-0.5 wt% of a fluorescent whitening agent; and a flat layer (C layer) which has a 60 degree gloss of 50 % or less and comprises a polyester resin layer. At least one surface of the film is coated with a coating solution imparting easy printable property, antistatic property or releasability. Preferably the coating solution is a water-soluble coating solution containing an acryl-based resin, a polyester-based resin or a polyurethane-based resin as a binder. Preferably the inorganic particle has an average particle size of 0.1-10 micrometers.
