Abstract: An apparatus and a method for encryption in an advanced encryption standard are provided to improve performance of the encryption apparatus and to reduce the size of a chip of the encryption apparatus. An apparatus for encryption in an advanced encryption standard includes an incrementer(21), an encryption unit(41), and first to third multiplexers(51,52,53). The incrementer increases a counter value of input data stored in a first input resistor(31). The encryption unit encrypts the input data by using a key stored in a key resistor(33) to store the encrypted input data. The first multiplexer multiplexes outputs of the first input resistor and the incrementer to transmit the multiplexed output to the first input resistor. The second multiplexer multiplexes an output of a first coupling unit(11), the output of the first input resistor, and an output of a second input resistor to transmit the multiplexed output to the encryption unit. The third multiplexer multiplexes the output of a second coupling unit(12) and an output of an output resistor(34) to output the multiplexed output.

Abstract: An embedded system and a method for performing a test with a PC are provided to reduce a test cost and perform various kinds of desired tests by testing normal operation of an embedded flash memory with the usual PC. A selector(310) selects an SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface) mode or a JTAG(Joint Test Action Group) mode by receiving a selection signal from a PC(301). A controller(340) outputs a control signal for processing a command corresponding to a test signal by receiving the test signal from the PC through the selected mode. A flash memory(350) stores data included in the test signal received from the PC or erases the data stored in a corresponding address by the control signal received from the controller. The PC determines whether the tested command is normally performed by performing the command corresponding to the test signal and receiving feedback of information stored in the address corresponding to the test signal from the flash memory. The controller receives the test signal from an SPI(320) in series when the SPI mode is selected, and receives the test signal as a JTAG command through a JTAG interface(330) when the JTAG mode is selected.
