Abstract: PURPOSE: An acoustic signal reinforcing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to offer enough low sound sensing characteristics via a small sized and thin loudspeaker by replacing a wide band signal by a BSE(Psychoacoustic Bass Enhancement) signal. CONSTITUTION: A preprocessor(110) divides an original sound signal into a signal with a high frequency band and a signal with a low frequency band. The preprocessor analyzes the signal with the low frequency band and generates estimated distortion amount information. A BSE signal generator(120) controls a dimension of harmonic signal with respect to the signal with the low frequency band according to the estimated distortion amount information. The BSE signal generator generates the harmonic signal and then BSE signal which replacing the signal of the low frequency band. A gain controller(130) controls a synthesizing rate between the signal of the low frequency band and the BSE signal according to the estimated distortion amount information.
