PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing Vitis vinifera root, Symplocos prunifolia, or Campylotropis macrocarpa extract is provided to prevent food poisoning and food spoilage. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition contains Vitis vinifera root, Symplocos prunifolia, or Campylotropis macrocarpa extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, low alcohol of C1-C4, or a mixture solvent thereof. The extraction solvent is methanol or ethanol. An antibacterial composition eliminates Micrococcus luteus, Bacilus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus hirae, Propionibacterium acnes, and Streptococcus mutans.
