PURPOSE: A network system for performing a high-speed block data transmission between a packet processing engine and a main processor, and a method for operating a DMA(Direct Memory Access) thereof are provided to reduce a DMA management function of the main processor and a processing time according to data transmission by setting a control state of a DMA engine in the DMA engine. CONSTITUTION: A processor processing buffer(220) stores packets to be processed in a CPU(110). A packet processing engine(240) forwards a packet inputted from a link in a wired speed, and generates a DMA request signal when the inputted packet is the packet to be processed in the CPU(110). A DMA engine(250) answers to the DMA request signal, monitors a residual quantity state of the processor processing buffer(220), and generates a control signal and an address necessary for a DMA operation.

PURPOSE: A method for upgrading an image file in a network system is provided to use a main controller recognizing states of sub controllers for upgrading instead of an operator, so as to select an upgrade method suitable for network system characteristics and eliminate troubles and mistakes of the operator. CONSTITUTION: A main controller downloads a new image file of a high version to a sub controller(701). The sub controller copies the image file downloaded from the main controller to a specific area discriminated from an area storing a previous image file in a flash memory(703). The main controller initializes the sub controller(704), to enable the sub controller to perform an initialization operation(705). The sub controller copies the new image file stored in the specific area of the flash memory to a RAM(Random Access Memory), deletes the image file, and executes the image file in the RAM(706-710). Whether the new image file is normally operated is checked(711). If so, the previous image file stored in the flash memory is updated to the new image file of the RAM(712). If not normally operated, the step 705 is returned to initialize the sub controller. If the new image file does not exist in the specific area of the flash memory, the previous image file stored in the flash memory is copied to the RAM(707).

PURPOSE: A burst mode demultiplexer for processing burst signals in an OLT is provided to supply an excellent function compared to a continuous mode CDR having time delay. CONSTITUTION: A demultiplexer(503) performs over-sampling operation for the serial data of a burst mode transmitted from an optical network unit through an upper link to a reference clock(502). A signal selector(505) measures a preamble patterns of the oversampled bus data demultiplexed by the demultiplexer. The signal selector selects/outputs one kinds of accurate bus data, and a frequency converter(501) multiplies the reference clock to enable the oversampling by the demultiplexer.

An automatic power control method for OLT(Optical Line Terminal) in PON(Point-To-Multipoint), and a storage media for performing the same are provided to operate an optical transmitter by selecting an optimal output level according to ODN(Optical Network Unit) structure of an associated PON(Passive Optical Network) and turns off the laser of the optical transmitter when all ONUs are non-operation state, thereby reducing unnecessary power consumption and manufacturing cost. An automatic optical output control method for OLT(Optical Line Terminal) in PON(Point-To-Multipoint) comprises the following steps of: measuring possible permission optical output ranges which can be normally performed on PON(101); selecting an optimal light signal level in the measured possible permission optical output ranges(103); and adjusting an output level of a transmitter by a pre-selected optimal light signal(104). An electro-optic reception/transmission device for a combined broadcasting signal and a photoelectric reception/transmission device therefor are provided to maintain RF(Radio Frequency) signal quality when simultaneously servicing a CATV(CAble TV) broadcast and a satellite broadcast by using a single optical wavelength and offer various types according to the installation environment of equipment. A satellite signal reception control unit(101) receives a satellite signal. A CATV signal reception control unit(102) receives a CATV signal. An RF combination unit(103) combines the satellite and the CATV signal received through the satellite signal reception control unit(101) and the CATV signal reception control unit(102) as a signal of a single frequency band. In an apparatus for providing a duplicated shelf manager in an ATCA(Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) system, two duplicated shelf manager parts(101-1,101-2) perform management and control as to boards mounted in the ATCA system and comprise two ethernet ports for connection respectively. Two switches(61,62) provide a path for high speed data transmission as to the boards mounted in the ATCA system, and comprise a number of ethernet ports.
