Abstract: A device and a method for detection failure of a telematics system are provided to automatically detect/inform the failure of the telematics system by receiving log information received from each server of the telematics system with an automaton and determining a state displacement value of each log. Each server provides a telematics service. A processing log detecting module(14a) receives the log information from each server by connecting to the telematics system through a terminal. Log automata(16) determine state displacement of each log information by receiving the log information of each server from the processing log detecting module and outputs an error signal if a system error is determined. A failure detecting module(14b) transmits the error signal output from the log automata to a management system.
