Abstract: The present invention relates to a lane information generation device using information on the running of a vehicle and a method thereof. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a lane information generation device using information on the running of a vehicle, which generates lane information based on cumulative statistics about the running information collected from multiple vehicles, thereby enabling an information collecting vehicle equipped with expensive equipment not to run in each lane across the country and quickly and accurately generating lane information, and a method thereof. For the above-mentioned purpose, the lane information generation device using information on the running of a vehicle comprises a map information storage unit, which stores digital map information; a running information collecting unit, which collects running information from multiple vehicles; a cumulative statistics unit, which accumulates the each vehicle running information collected by the running information collecting unit and collects statistics; a control unit, which generates lane information based on the statistics result of the cumulative statistics unit and the digital map information; and a lane information database, which stores the lane information generated by the control unit.
