Abstract: PURPOSE: A rapid charging system and a driving method thereof are provided to comfortably maintain the inside of a vehicle in response to a demand of an operator while rapidly charging a battery by additionally charging electricity which is necessary for driving an air conditioning system. CONSTITUTION: Whether an air conditioning switch drives or not is checked(S1). Air conditioning electricity for automatically controlling the temperature of the inside of a vehicle is calculated(S2). Vehicle required electricity is calculated by adding battery required electricity to the air conditioning electricity of an air conditioning system(S3). Whether the vehicle required electricity is same with input voltage which is applied in order to charge a main battery or not is checked(S4). The main battery is charged by the input voltage through rapid charge(S5).
