Abstract:
Described herein is a composition comprising a partially fluorinated compound selected from the group consisting of: I(CF2)XCH═CH2 (Formula III); and I(CF2)XCH2CH2I (Formula II) wherein x is an odd integer selected from 3 to 11.
Abstract:
A photocurable composition comprising a photoresist component, and an ethylenically unsaturated perfluoropolyether is disclosed. The composition enables easier release of phototool from a photoresist.
Abstract:
Presently described are articles, such as optical displays and protective films, comprising a (e.g. light transmissive) substrate having a surface layer comprising the reaction product of a mixture comprising a non-fluorinated binder precursor (e.g. of a hardcoat composition) and at least one polymerizable perfluoropolyether polymer. The resulting cured surface layer can advantageously exhibit low lint attraction in combination with low surface energy. Also described are one-step and two-step methods of synthesizing perfluoropolyether polymers having polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups.

Abstract:
Blended release materials including a blend of a fluoro-functional silicone release polymer and a fluoropolymer are described. Exemplary fluoropolymers include fluoroolefin-based polymers and linear fluoropolymers including linear fluoroacryaltes. Articles including such release materials such as release liners, and adhesive articles, including silicone adhesive articles, are also described.
Abstract:
Described herein are compounds according to Formula (I) wherein Rf is a perfluorinated divalent group comprising 2 to 12 carbon atoms; and Z is selected from —CH═CH2, and —CH2CH═CH. A method of making the compound from a functionalized vinyl ether and ammonia is disclosed. In one embodiment, the functionalized triazine-containing compound is used in the polymerization of a fluoropolymer. In another embodiment, the functionalized triazine-containing compound is used in a curable fluoropolymer composition and cured to form articles.
Abstract:
A composition including a compound having structural formula (I): Rf is a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-3 atoms; n is 0-2; x is 1-3; and Rf′ and Rf″ are (i) independently, a linear or branched perfluoroalkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms; or (ii) are bonded together to form a ring structure having 4-8 carbon atoms. The composition further includes a hydrocarbon contaminant.

Abstract:
Article comprising composite particles in an organic polymer matrix comprising a cured thiol-alkene resin having a Tg>20° C., the composite particles comprising a hydrophobic nonmetallic inorganic matrix, ligands, and quantum dots, wherein the hydrophobic nonmetallic inorganic matrix is present in the composite particles in an amount of up to 40 volume percent. Exemplary articles described herein can be made for use for display applications such as films, LED caps, LED coatings, LED lenses, and light guides. Exemplary articles described herein can be made for use for non-display applications such as security applications where quantum dot phosphors are used to provide fluorescence at selected or tailored wavelengths. In such uses, the organic polymer matrix could be a label or a coating on a label, or other articles such as a card or tag.
Abstract:
Curable antifouling compositions include fluorinated polymers that contain a perfluoropolyether group, a poly(alkyleneoxide) group, a hydrolyzable silane group and a cationic curative. The curable antifouling compositions can be applied on a surface of a substrate, and at least partially cured to provide an article with antifouling properties.
