Abstract:
A film is described comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and a polyvinyl acetal (e.g. butyral) resin. In some embodiments, the film has a glass transition temperature (i.e. Tg) ranging from 30° C. to 60° C. In some embodiments, the film has a gel content of at least 20% or greater. In some embodiments, the film has an elongation at break of at least 175%. The film typically comprises photoinitiator as a result of the method by which the film was made. The film may be a monolithic film or a layer of a multilayer film.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a polymeric membrane. The polymeric membrane includes a first thermoplastic elastomer layer. The thermoplastic elastomer is a styrenic thermoplastic. The polymeric membrane can further include an optional second thermoplastic elastomer layer in contact with the first polyolefin layer.
Abstract:
A film is described comprising a first film layer having a Tg ranging from 30° C. to 60° C. The first film layer comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer composition. The film further comprises a second layer proximate the first film layer. The second layer is different than the first film layer. The second may be a cured (meth)acrylic polymer film or coating; a backing such as thermoplastic polymer, woven or nonwoven fabrics, metal foils, paper, foams; or a coverfilm such as a fluoropolymer.
Abstract:
A light directing article comprises an acrylic polyvinyl acetal film to protect the optical elements of the light directing article. The acrylic polyvinyl acetal film has a Tg of at least 30° C. and comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer. The acrylic polyvinyl acetal film is flexible and durable to mechanical deformation.
Abstract:
A patterned chemical indicator with at least one indicating zone and at least one reference zone. The reference zone has a first and second major surfaces that are occluded surfaces; and, a reference area of the reference zone is circumferentially bounded by at least one non-porous dam.
Abstract:
A film is described comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer composition, wherein the film comprises a structured layer.
Abstract:
A fingerprint imaging system is described comprising a film including an optically transparent self-wetting adhesive layer adhered to an imaging surface of an electronic optical image sensor. Also described is a method of use of an optical imaging system, and a film and multilayer film suitable for use with a fingerprint imaging system.
Abstract:
Methods of bonding polyester substrates together, comprising externally delivering thermal energy onto the bonding surfaces of the substrates and bringing the bonding surfaces into proximity with each other and bonding the substrates to each other.

Abstract:
Heterogeneous catalyst systems, methods of making these systems, and methods of using these systems, wherein catalytically active gold is deposited onto composite support media. The composite support media is formed by providing nanoporous material on at least a portion of the surfaces of carbonaceous host material. In representative embodiments, relatively fine, nanoporous guest particles are coated or otherwise provided on surfaces of relatively coarser activated carbon particles. Catalytically active gold may be deposited onto one or both of the guest or host materials either before or after the guest and host materials are combined to from the composite host material. PVD is the preferred catalyst system of depositing gold.
