Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the drawing of material at high productivity to be achieved at high drawing speed, while the high deformation ratio is maintained by a method in which rapid cooling treatment is applied to the stock immediately after the finish of hot drawing of crystalline thermoplastic high molecular weight material, whereby high speed drawing is carried out. CONSTITUTION:Preheated crystalline thermoplastic high molecular weight stock 1 is drawn through a heated drawing tool 2 e.g. a die or rolls, while the distance of the drawing tool is regulated, whereby the stock 1 is drawn. A cooling range 3 is provided immediately after the exit of the drawing tool 2, and the strength of the stock 1 in the position immediately after the exit of the drawing tool 2, is restored to its original strength by rapid cooling treatment of the stock, thereby enabling the drawing speed to be raised. Further in the stock 1 after passing the drawing tool, strain hardening and the molecular orientation in a certain direction occur, whereby the stock 1 has higher strength than that of the stock 1 before passing the drawing tool.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a high-hardness plastic molding having a two-dimensional covalent bond-containing network structure, being highly crystalline and excellent in hardness and modulus, by polymerizing a diacetylenic nylon salt compound by heating in a mold under a high pressure. CONSTITUTION:A high-hardness plastic molding is produced by packing a diacetylenic nylon salt compound of formula I [wherein R1 and R2 are each a (substituted)alkylene, cycloalkylene or arylene] into a mold of any desired shape and polymerizing it by heating at 100-400 deg.C and 0.5X10 -15X10 atm. A highly crystalline plastic molding in the form of a two-dimensional covalent bond-containing network can be easily produced. This molding has excellent strength and modulus and such a high hardness as to be equivalent to that of a metal, so that it is very useful as a light high-hardness material. The compound of formula I can be quantitatively obtained as a crystalline form by mixing equimolar amounts of a diacetylenecarboxylic acid of formula II (wherein R1 is as defined above) and a diamine of formula III (wherein R2 is as defined above).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the title equipment to perform stable extrusion without having deterioration due to dwell of plastics, and without crush of a mixed filler, by a method wherein a rotary disk and feed screw are made turnable at adjustable and different turning speeds. CONSTITUTION:A rotation of an electric motor 20 provided with variable reduction gears is transmitted to a pulley 21 and pulley 23 of a shaft 5 fixed to a rotary disk 6 through a chain belt 22. On the one hand, the rotation of the electric motor 20 is transmitted to a pulley 26 in a variable reduction gears 25 through a chain belt 24 from the above-stated pulley 21, and the rotation of the electric motor 20 is transmitted further to a pulley 29 fixed to a feed screw 2 through a chain belt 28 from an output side pulley 27 of the variable reduction gears 25. With this construction, mutual action (accompanying drive) between the rotary disk 6 and feed screw 2 does not exist even in the presence of a solid state or molten state plastics. In addition, a prevention effect of dwell of plastics can be displayed effectively through appropriate balancing where a rotation between the rotary disk 6 and feed screw 2 is controlled and a rotation of the feed screw 2 is improved relatively.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aliphatic polyester-based polymer, by which the high mol.wt. aliphatic polyester-based polymer having a practically sufficient melting temperature, an excellent color tone, and an excellent mechanical strength can profitably be produced at a practically high polymerization rate. SOLUTION: This method for producing an aliphatic polyester based polymer comprises polycondensing (i) a mixture of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or its diester with an aliphatic diol or (ii) the preliminary condensation product of the mixture as a reaction raw material in the presence of a transesterification catalyst. Therein, at least one protonic acid selected from an organic phosphonic acid of the formula: O=P(OH)2R (R is an aliphatic group or an aromatic group), aliphatic and/or aromatic compounds having sulfonic groups or sulfate ester groups and sulfuric acid is used as an auxiliary catalyst for the catalyst.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve suitability for rolling as the whole of a material to be rolled and obtain an extremely thin rolled film, by a method wherein the sheet of the outermost layer in the material to be rolled, which is in contact with a roll, is made of crystalline resin and the thickness thereof is made equal to the same of the sheet of an intermediate layer or less. CONSTITUTION:Three sheets of thermoplastic resin sheets 2, 3, 4 are laminated by employing a pair of guide rolls 5, 6. Two sheets of the sheets 2, 4 of the outer layers of the material 1 to be calendered are made of crystalline thermoplastic resin while the sheet 3 of the intermediate layer of the material 1 to be rolled is made of the thermoplastic resin and the thickness thereof should be equal to or less than the thicknesses of either one of the sheets 2, 4 of the outer layers. The sheets 2, 4 of the outer layers which are contacted with rolls 7, 8, are made of crystalline resin, therefore, a film can be rolled well and a thin film may be obtained even when the noncrystalline hard resin sheet, not excellent in a suitability for rolling, is employed for the intermediate layer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform lining by such simple operation as to simply heat a synthetic resin pipe more than the molding temperature, by performing the lining by making use of synthetic resin pipe solid phase molding of which has been performed so that density becomes lower than a material billet. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin pipe 20 is molded under terms wherein an expansion ratio of the outer circumference is smaller than 1. The outside diameter of the synthetic resin pipe 20 is made little smaller than the inside diameter of a component 10 to which lining is provided. The synthetic resin pipe 20 is inserted in the inside of the component 10 to which the lining is provided as shown by a drawing (a), to begin with. Then the synthetic resin pipe 20 is heated at the temperature of more than a solid phase molding temperature, with this construction, the outside diameter of the synthetic resin pipe 20 is expanded and adheres closely to the internal circumferential surface of the component to which the lining is provided. Although the inside diameter of the synthetic resin pipe 20 is expanded also, the expansion is smaller than that of th e outer diameter. Thickness, thereforce, of the synthetic resin pipe 20 is increased.

The horizontal polymerizer is equipped with a rotation mechanism for holding and rotating the two rotary trunnions in such a way that the tip of the rodlike rectangular frame of one mixing blade is passed in close vicinity to the center of the rotation of the other mixing blade.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart molecular chain orientation by drawing a sheet of a polymeric compsn. comprising polylatic acid from the gap between a pair of rolls heated to a specific temp. to apply a stretching ratio of three times or more to the sheet uniaxially. SOLUTION: The m.p. (peak temp. of DSC) of polylactic acid being a raw material is 174 deg.C and the glass transition temp. thereof is 68 deg.C. This polylactic acid is dried for 24 hr or more under vacuum and the compsn. comprising 100 wt. % of this polylactic acid is heated and melted at a temp. of 205 deg.C in a twine-screw extruder to be kneaded. This polylactic acid is extruded into a sheet from a T-die with a width of 60 mm and a gap of 1.05 mm and cooled in water to be taken up. The sheet 3 thus obtained having a thickness of about 1 mm is drawn out of the gap between a pair of chromium plated rolls 1 with an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 150 mm heated to temp. exceeding the glass transition temp. of the sheet and less than (m.p. -80 V) thereof to be subjected to stretch processing. A sheet 4 having high elastic modulus, high strength and a good surface state is obtained.
