Abstract: In the present invention there are disclosed impregnated salts containing at least one salt of one or several organic carboxylic acids in which 0.5 to 30 percent by weight of at least one organic carboxylic acid has been incorporated in relation to the carboxylic acid salt. A process for preparing such impregnated salts is characterized in that at least one carboxylic acid salt from carboxylic acid mixture is impregnated with at least one liquid carboxylic acid to concentration of 30 percent by weight, based on the carboxylic acid salt. The invention also relates to a process for preparing preservatives, which preparation process comprises mixing of a salt, impregnated according to the present invention, with one or several carrier substances and/or formulation auxiliary agents, the mixture is the agglomerated with or without addition of at least one binding agent. The invented impregnated salts or preservatives are used for treating foodstuffs and animal food, and for silage or for treating leather.

Abstract: Granules are provided that are useful for oxidizing applications when the granules are dissolved in the presence of an active oxygen source. These granules include a salt having the structure of Formula I FORMULA I wherein A is a saturated ring formed by a plurality of atoms in addition to the N1 atom, the saturated ring atoms including at least one carbon atom and at least one of O, S, and N atoms, the substituent R1 bound to the N1 atom of the Formula I structure including either (a) a C1-24 alkyl or alkoxylated alkyl where the alkoxy is C2-4, (b) a C4-24 cycloalkyl, (c) a C7-24 alkaryl, (d) a repeating or nonrepeating alkoxy or alkoxylated alcohol, where the alkoxy unit is C2-4, or (e) -CR2R3C 3BOND N where R2 and R3 are each H, a C1-24 alkyl, cycloalkyl, or alkaryl, or a repeating or nonrepeating alkoxyl or alkoxylated alcohol where the alkoxy unit is C2-4, the R2 and R3 substituents being each H, a C1-24 alkyl, cycloalkyl, or alkaryl, or a repeating or nonrepeating alkoxyl or alkoxylated alcohol where the alkoxy unit is C2-4, Z is in the range of 0 to 10, and wherein Y is a counterion.
