    Abstract: Agents used for the anti-wrinkle treatment of cellulose-based textiles contain water-soluble or -dispersible polysiloxane-containing polymers obtained by radical polymerisation of mono-unsaturated and optionally poly-unsaturated ethylenic monomers in presence of polyalkylene oxide-containing silicone derivatives. A method for the anti-wrinkle treatment of cellulose-containing textiles involves treatment with water-soluble or -dispersible polysiloxane-containing polymers (I) obtained by the radical polymerisation of (a) 10-99 wt% of a mixture of (a1) 90-100 wt% mono-unsaturated ethylenic monomers and (a2) 0-10 wt% poly-unsaturated monomers in presence of (b) 1-90 wt% polyalkylene oxide-containing silicone derivative, after which the treated textile is dried. Independent claims are also included for: (i) anti-wrinkle treatment agents as described above; (ii) textile treatment agents containing 0.1-40 wt% (I), 0-30 wt% other silicones (II), 0-30 wt% cationic and/or non-ionic surfactants, 0-60 wt% other ingredients (e.g. wetting agents, softeners, lubricants, water-soluble film-forming and adhesive polymers, odorants and pigments, stabilizers, fibre- and dye-protectors, viscosity modifiers, soil-release additives, corrosion inhibitors, bactericides, preservatives and spraying aids) and 0-99.9 wt% water; (iii) solid detergents containing 0.05-20 wt% (I), 0-20 wt% (II), 0.1-40 wt% non-ionic and/or anionic surfactants (III), 0-50 wt% inorganic builders, 0-10 wt% organic cobuilders and 0-60 wt% other ingredients (e.g. set-up agents, enzymes, perfume, complex-formers, corrosion inhibitors, bleaching agents, activators and catalysts, cationic surfactants, color transfer inhibitors, greying inhibitors, soil-release polyesters, pigments, bactericides, solubility improvers and/or disintegrating agents); (iv) liquid detergents containing 0.05-20 wt% (I), 0-20 wt% (II), 0.1-40 wt% (III), 0-20 wt% inorganic builders, 0-10 wt% organic cobuilders, 0-60 wt% other ingredients (e.g. soda, enzymes and other substances as in (ii) above, non-aqueous solvents, solubilizers, hydrotropic agents, thickeners and/or alkanolamines) and 0-99.85 wt% water; (v) laundry-care rinse aids containing 0.05-40 wt% (I), 0-20 wt% (II), 0.1-40 wt% cationic surfactants, 0-30 wt% non-ionic surfactants, 0-30 wt% other ingredients (e.g. silicones, other lubricants, wetting agents, film-forming polymers, odorants and dyes, stabilizers, fibre- and dye-protectors, viscosity modifiers, soil-release additives, corrosion inhibitors, bactericides and preservatives) and 0-99.85 wt% water.

    Abstract: A process for the production of water-soluble or water-swellable cationic polymers by (i) free-radically initiated copolymerization of monomer mixtures in water comprising (a) from 1 to 99% by weight of a cationic monomer or quaternizable monomer, (b) from 1 to 99% by weight of a water-soluble monomer, (c) from 0 to 10% by weight of a bi- or polyfunctional, free-radically copolymerizable monomer, adjusting the amounts (a) to (c) in such a way that the resulting polymer has an overall positive charge, in the presence of 1 to 100% of the amount of a salt which is necessary to saturate the reaction medium with said salt and in the presence of 0,1 to 20 % by weight referred to the weight of the dispersion, of an amphoteric dispersant having an overall negative charge, and (ii) subsequent quaternization of the polymer if the monomer (a) employed is a non-quaternized monomer is disclosed.
