Abstract: An emulsifier composition for a water-in-oil dye emulsion comprises (a) a hydroxyalkylamide having 16-19 C atoms in the carboxylic acid radical, and (b) a hydroxyalkylamine having up to 6 C atoms. The specified components (a) are oleic di- and mono-ethanolamide, linseed oil fatty acid diethanolamide, tallow fatty acid isopropanolamide and amides derived from palmitic, margaric and stearic acid and mixtures of synthetic acids with monopropanolamine, diisopropanolamine, butanolamine and methylisobutanolamine, and (b) are mono-, di- and tri-ethanolamine, diethanolethylamine, mono- and di-iso-propanolamine, isobutanolamine and methylisobutanolamine. Dye emulsions may be prepared by dissolving the emulsifier composition in a solvent and stirring in the aqueous dye liquor. Specified solvents are hydrocarbons (many examples of aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and aromatic type, commerical mixtures thereof, terpenes), carbon tetrachloride, di-, tri- and tetrachloroethane, mono-chlorobenzene, methyl isobutyl ketone, mesityl oxide, diacetone alcohol, methyl cyclohexanone and isopropyl ether. Specified dye types are vat, sulphur, carbazole, acid, dispersion, metal complex, developed (azoic) and reactive dyes, examples of some being given. Other specified components are thickeners (alginate, carob flour and starch ether), sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate and potassium carbonate. Specifications 733,099, 759,293 and 768,745 are referred to.ALSO:An emulsifier for a water-in-oil dye emulsion comprises (a) a hydroxyalkyl-amide having 16-19 C-atoms in the carboxylic acid radical and (b) a hydroxyalkylamine having up to 6-C atoms. Suitable dyes are vat, sulphur, acid, disperse, metal complex, reactive and developed (azoic) dyes. Many suitable solvents are specified for the outer phase including hydrocarbon. Solvents with boiling ranges from 120 DEG C. up to 190 DEG C. The specified components (a) include oleic di- and monoethanolamide, linseed oil fatty acid diethanolamide, tallow fatty acid isopropanolamide and (b) include di- and triethanolamine and diisopropanolamine. The emulsion may be prepared by dissolving the emulsifier in e.g. gasoline (boiling range 160-200 DEG C.) and stirring in the aqueous dye liquor. Examples are given. Abstract: The addition of polyisocyanates having molecular weights within the range from 364 to 4000 as crosslinking agents to aqueous pigment print pastes for textile printing consisting of (in addition to water): a) from 3 to 35% by weight, based on the ready-to-print paste, of a 15 to 55% strength aqueous dispersion of a polymer binder which under fixing conditions (100 to 200 DEG C) is film-forming and which contains as copolymerised units from 0.3 to 12% by weight, based on the polymer, of a monomer having at least one group that is reactive towards isocyanate, b) from 0.01 to 40% by weight, based on the print paste, of at least one pigment, c) from 0.1 to 8% by weight of a thickener (as solid substance) and/or from 55 to 70% by weight of naphtha (heavy benzine) in emulsified form, d) from 1 to 8% by weight, based on the print paste, of an emulsified, water-insoluble, liquid polyisocyanate, e) from 0 to 10% by weight of further additions customary in pigment printing, makes it possible to fix the prints not just with hot air, as previously, but for equally good fastness properties with steam too, expanding the range of technical options for textile printing.
