    Abstract: Abstract The invention relates to novel acid-free quaternised nitrogen compounds and to the production and use thereof as fuel and lubricant additives, such as in particular as detergent additives, as wax anti-settling additives (WASA) or as additives for reducing internal diesel injector deposits (IDID). The invention further relates to additive packages containing said compounds and to fuels and lubricants containing said additives.     Abstract: The present invention relates to innovative quaternized polyetheramines and to the preparation thereof. The present invention further relates to the use of these compounds as a fuel and lubricant additive. More particularly the invention relates to the use of these quaternized nitrogen compounds as a fuel additive for reducing or preventing deposits in the injection systems of direct injection diesel engines, especially in common rail injection systems, for reducing the fuel consumption of direct injection diesel engines, especially of diesel engines with common rail injection systems, and for minimizing power loss in direct injection diesel engines, especially in diesel engines with common rail injection systems. The invention also provides additive packages comprising these polyetheramines, and fuels and lubricants additized therewith.
