Abstract: Solvent-free, pigment-containing compositions contain a binder based on an aqueous copolymer dispersion obtained by radical emulsion polymerization of a mixture containing 0.05-15 wt.% of itaconic acid, anhydride or salt as acidic comonomer, a pigment, a pigment distributor of DIN 53402 acid number below 600, optionally an inorganic filler, and conventional additives. Solvent-free, pigment-containing compositions contain: (A) binder based on an aqueous copolymer dispersion obtained by radical emulsion polymerization of a mixture comprising by wt.: (i) a monomer whose homopolymer has a Tg below 20 degrees C (45-69.95%); (ii) a monomer whose homopolymer has a Tg above 50 degrees C (30-54.95%); (iii) itaconic acid, anhydride or salt (0.05-1.5%); and (iv) one or more comonomers (0-2%); (B) a pigment; (C) a pigment distributor of DIN 53402 acid number below 600; (D) optionally an inorganic filler; and (E) conventional additives.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing modified lignocellulosic materials. Said method consists of the following steps a) the lignocellulosic material is impregnated with an aqueous composition which contains i) at least one cross-linkable nitrogen compound and ii) at least one substance which catalyses the cross-linking, b) the impregnated lignocellulosic materials are treated at higher temperatures in order to remove the water and to cross-link the cross-linkable nitrogen compound.
