Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of wood-base materials which have at least one thin veneer layer adhesively bonded over the surface to a substrate or to further veneer layers, which process comprises the following steps: i. impregnation of a veneer with an aqueous curable composition which comprises a) at least one curable urea compound selected from urea compounds H which have at least one N-bonded group of the formula CH2OR, where R is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, and/or a 1,2-bishydroxyethane-1,2-diyl group bridging the two nitrogen atoms of the urea, precondensates of the urea compound H, and reaction products or mixtures of the urea compound H with at least one alcohol which is selected from C1-C6-alkanols, C2-C6-polyols and oligoethylene glycols, and b) at least one catalyst K effecting crosslinking of the urea compound; ii) gluing of the impregnated veneer and/or the substrate with a glue composition and iii) processing of the glued veneer to give a wood-base material at elevated temperature with curing of the crosslinkable urea compound, the impregnated veneer comprising the crosslinkable urea compound in substantially uncrosslinked form before the gluing in step ii).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing modified lignocellulosic materials. Said method consists of the following steps a) the lignocellulosic material is impregnated with an aqueous composition which contains i) at least one cross-linkable nitrogen compound and ii) at least one substance which catalyses the cross-linking, b) the impregnated lignocellulosic materials are treated at higher temperatures in order to remove the water and to cross-link the cross-linkable nitrogen compound. In step b) the impregnated lignocellulosic material is treated with overheated steam. The invention also relates to lignocellulosic materials which are obtained according to said method.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la fabricación de un material derivado de la madera, que presenta, al menos, una chapa de forro pegada en forma de hoja con un soporte o con otras chapas de forro, que comprende: i) la impregnación de, al menos, un forro, que presenta un espesor comprendido entre 20 µm y 10 mm, con una composición endurecible acuosa, que contiene a) al menos un compuesto de urea reticulable, elegido entre los compuestos de urea H, que presentan al menos un grupo enlazado con N, de la fórmula CH2OR, en la que R significa hidrógeno o alquilo con 1 hasta 4 átomos de carbono, y/o precondensados del compuesto de la urea H, que presentan un grupo 1,2-bishidroxietano-1,2-diilo, que puentea a los dos átomos de nitrógeno de la urea, y productos de la reacción o mezclas del compuesto de urea H con, al menos, un alcohol, que se elige entre los alcanoles con 1 hasta 6 átomos de carbono, los polioles con 2 hasta 6 átomos de carbono y los oligoetilenglicoles, y b) al menos un catalizador K, que provoca la reticulación del compuesto de urea; ii) el encolado del forro impregnado y/o del soporte con una composición encolante y iii) la elaboración del forro encolado para dar un material derivado de la madera a temperatura elevada con endurecimiento del compuesto de urea endurecible, estando presente el compuesto endurecible de la urea durante el encolado en la etapa ii) en el forro impregnado en una forma ampliamente exenta de reticulación.
