    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable recording of characters or the like according to a format through an easy operation, by inputting a recording data for a sheet by an input means while referring format data inputted from a reading sensor part and displayed. CONSTITUTION:The leading end of a paper 207 is fed to a reading position of a reading sensor 111, a contact sensor 105 is shifted down, and image data is read from the paper 207 by the sensor 111. The image data thus read is sequentially stored into an image buffer 141, and is displayed on a display part 142. When the leading end of the paper 207 arrives at a recording position, the image data read is displayed on a screen 320, and designated input position, printing position and the like are indicated by cursors 74, 73. When instructions for printing are inputted, printing of the amount of data corresponding to one line, the amount of data displayed on the screen 320 or the amount of data corresponding to the number of lines designated simultaneously with the printing instructions is conducted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily copy an original on a transparent film such as the sheet of an OHP (overhead projector), etc., by supplying the original and the transparent film after being superposed to a device. CONSTITUTION:A recording carrier is carried to a recording position along a carrying path carriable the sheet in which an almost transparent recording carrier and the original are superposed. A reading part is arranged on the carrying path at the upstream of the recording position, and inputs the image information of the original by reading photoelectrically through the recording carrier. An operation to record the image information of the original read in such way at the recording position on the recording carrier is performed. In such a way, it is possible to copy the original on a transparent recording carrier, for example, the sheet of the OHP with an easy operation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable ink discharge to be changed through temperature variations by providing a temperature sending means, a heater and an air blower and controlling them electrically based on the temperature sensing readings of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:If a control signal Si from a temperature sensing means 11 indicates 'high humidity' state ('high humidity' signal Si1 is ON), a fan 9 and a heater 7 are set to a low temperature (L), and if the signal indicates 'low humidity' state ('low humidity' signal Si2 is ON), the fan and heater are set to a high temperature H. If the signal indicates neither of them, the fan and heater are set to a normal temperature. Thus the fan and heater are controlled. When controlling the heater 7, the readings of temperature data Tn from a temperature sensing means 8 are obtained after checking the elapse of one second, interpreting whether or not the obtained value is lower than a set temperature. If it is lower, the heater 7 is set to 'drive ON' for heating. A blower 9 is also controlled by reading temperature data from the temperature sensing means 8, interpreting whether or not said data is higher than a set temperature. If it is higher, the blower 9 is set to 'drive ON', while, if it is lower, the blower is stopped. Further, it if is not lower, the blower is left operating as it is.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To control the temperature of a printing head unit rapidly and accurately by providing a heater and a temperature detection means on a printing head and at the same time, a blower inside the recorder. CONSTITUTION:A heater 7 ad a temperature detection means 8 are provided at a required point on the board 5 of a printing head unit 3 i.e. at a position near each printing head element or a point which indicates a temperature corresponding to the temperature of the point for said element. This printing head unit is so designed as to be cooled by a common blower 9 provided inside the recorder. A detection signal from a detection signal is input to a control(microcomputer) of the recorder. Said control regulates the drive of the heater 7 ad the blower 9 according to the temperature signal. Thus the temperature of the printing head is kept within a range of proper ink droplet formation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To discharge fine ink mists produced from ink droplets together with a recording medium out of a device by controlling in such a manner that the capacity of a fan is increased as the number of image formation data increases and shielding a recording surface formation part by means of an air curtain blown off from the fan. CONSTITUTION:When a signal, RFH reporting that, for example, 50% or more of nozzles have delivered, is sent from a recording head unit 110 to a control unit CTL, the CTL sends a signal DFH to a DC fan motor M4 for sucking recording paper P to increase the capacity of a fan, whereupon an air flow from a fan 390F for sucking paper is deflected by a duct member 390D so as to be blown off from a gap between a platen 392 and a mount base 302, so that the air flow runs against a printing surface (direction of arrow A) of printing paper P to form an air curtain. As a result, fine ink mists produced by projection of ink of a head 110 are uniformly attached to the paper P, while the mists are discharged out of a device, preventing the device from being contaminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely detect a defective sensor by inputting two kinds of information of white and black to a reading part for decision, and photoelectric- converting the output of the reading sensor, and deciding the sensor to be defective unless all the outputs are white or black. CONSTITUTION:A rollerlike platen 110 is installed in parallel with the contact type reading sensor 111 in order to read the printed part of a sheet by photoelectric-converting it. The reading part E for decision in which the half of an outer circumferential surface is white ground 110a and the rest is black ground 110b is formed on the platen 110, Then, a binary-converted output obtained by making the information of the reading part E of the platen 110 incident to the sensor 111 and photoelectric-converting the output is decided to be 1 (white) or 0 (black). If all of them are not 1 or 0, it is decided that the sensor 111 is defective. Then, if all of them are 1, the platen 110 is revolved by half, and further, if all the binary outputs are not 0, it is decided a defect exists in the sensor 111. Thus, by deciding the defect by using two kinds of the information, the defective sensor is surely detected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve prevention of printing from being inferior due to a position al dislocation of an ink ribbon, by a method wherein a degree of dispersion of recording data to a heating element of a thermal head is detected, and posi tional correction of the ink ribbon is automatically performed based on said value. CONSTITUTION:When heating elements C1, C2 are heated and thermal transfer recording of a width k is performed on a sheet S, an ink ribbon 161 is moved upward to a thermal head 101 due to pressing force by the head 101, extension of the ribbon 161 by thermal transfer recording, etc. Therefore, the heating elements of the head 101 are divided into an upper half and a lower half, and the number of points showing a weight is attached to each heating element. Thus, those numbers of points are summed based on dot data to be recorded. When calculated based on a recording example of the figure, '16' for P1, '-12' for P2, '20' for P3, and '0' for P4 are obtained. A calculation result obtained thus is compared with a certain value (for instance, '15' in this case). When it is not less than the certain value, a carriage is stopped to be moved and a current is stopped to be applied. The thermal head is elevated and is resumed after a time required for the ribbon to return to an original position.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize printing quality by detecting a discharged dot and causing a nozzle to perform its recovery action by means of a detection signal. CONSTITUTION:A recording control 94 supplies signals PS1, PS2 and PS3 to a controller respectively in accordance with the pressing of a power supply turn ON key, printing start key and a pressure mode setting key. A dot sensor 610 detects colors such as yellow, magenta, cyan and black, transmitting their signals SS3 to the controller 90. If a power supply is turned ON and a request for discharge check is identified by means of a discharge request, e.g. test mode, a print mode is set, discharging all dots of each printing head for checking a missing dot. Then if the missing dot is identified, the recovery action of the nozzle (supply, circulation and pressure modes) is performed, thus repeating said action until an interruption request is made.
