    Abstract: The formed sulphonate and SH gp.-contg. organo-polysiloxanes (OFP) contain units of formula (I) and (III): ÄO3/2SiR1SO3ÜxMx+ (I) O3/2SiR2SH (III) where R1 = 1-12 C alkylene, 5-8 C cycloalkylene or a gp. of formula -(CH2)n-Cy-(CH2)m- or -(CH2)n-Ph-(CH2)m- (II); where n and m = 0-6; Cy = cyclohexylene; Ph = phenylene; M = H, NH4 or a metal ion with a valency of 1-4; R2 = R1; the free valencies of the O atoms attached to Si are taken up by the Si atoms in other gps. (I) and/or (II) and/or by the metal atom-oxygen gps. in crosslinking bridging gps. of formula SiO4/2 (IV) and opt. R''SiO3/2, R'SiO3/2, AlO3/2, R'AlO2/2, TiO4/2, R'TiO3/2 (V), in which R' = Me or Et; R" = Ph or 2-12 C alkyl. The ratio of gps. (I):(III) is 10:1-1:10, the ratio of gps. (I):(IV) is 1:3-1:20 and the ratio of gps. (IV):(V) is 1:0-1:0.5. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of OFP.

    Abstract: New rhodium containing organopolysiloxane-ammonium compounds are described which consist of units of the formula (1) in which R1, R2 and R3 are R5-SiO3/2 (2), R5 is an alkylene group and the free valences of the oxygen atoms are saturated by silicon atoms of other groups (2), optionally with the insertion of cross-linking agents, R4 is hydrogen, an alkyl, cycloalkyl or benzyl group, xn- is a complex monovalent or polyvalent metal anion of rhodium and chloride, bromide or iodide. Methods for preparing these rhodium-containing organopolysiloxane-ammonium compounds as well as their use as catalysts in reactions with carbon monoxide are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Polymeric mono-, di-, tri- and tetra-sulfides are described having an organopolysiloxane base structure of the units: R1-S1-4-R2 (1) wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different and represent a group of the formula: R3-SiO3/2 (2) and which base structure may further optionally contain the heteroatoms titanium or aluminum, wherein R3 is an alkylene group and the free valencies of the oxygen atoms are saturated by silicon atoms of additional groups of formula (2), optionally with the insertion of cross-linking silicon-, titanium- or aluminum compounds, whereby the ratio of the silicon atoms in formula (2) to the silicon-, titanium- and aluminum atoms of any cross-linking agent may range from 1:0 to 1:10. In addition, processes for obtaining the sulfides and the use of these sulfides for the removal of certain ions from solutions are described.
