Abstract: A mixture of optical brighteners containing 0.05 to 0.95 part by weight of a compound from the benzoxazolyl- or benzothiazolylstilbene series and 0.95 to 0.05 part by weight of a compound of the bis-benzoxazolyl- or bis-benzothiazolylstilbene series or of the benzoxazolyl- or benzothiazolyl-stilbene oxazolo[5,4-6]pyridinyl or oxazolo[2,3-b]pyridinyl series. These mixtures show an enhanced degree of whiteness as compared to the same amount of the single components.

These amines, known as light stabilisers, preferably 2,2,6,6-tetraalkylpiperidine compounds, increase the whiteness compared with a plastic of the same type which contains the same amount of brightener only.
