    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled dispersing agent containing a specific amount of monoalkylphosphoric acid having straight-chain alkyl group, capable of keeping the polymerizing system in stable state and enabling the production of fine granular polymer free from powdery polymer in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:A dispersing agent containing >=80mol% monoalkylphosphoric acid having 12-24C straight-chain alkyl group is used as a dispersing agent for the reverse-phase suspension polymerization performed by adding an aqueous solution of a water-soluble ethylenic unsaturated monomer to a hydrophobic solvent inert to the polymerization reaction (e.g. n-hexane, benzene, toluene, etc.). The amount of the solvent is preferably 0.05-5.0wt% of the monomer. EFFECT:It is supposed that the dispersing agent is regularly arranged at the oil/water interface owing to the balance between the hydrogen bond of the phosphoric acid group and the hydrophobic straight-chain alkyl group to stabilize the interface and accordingly the reverse-phase suspension polymerization system can be maintained stably.

CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester resin compsn. is obtd. by blending a thermoplastic polyester (A) which is obtd. from a dicarboxylic acid component contg. at least 75mol% 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and a diol component contg. at least 75mol% ethylene glycol and in which the sum of dicarboxylic acid units other than 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid units and glycol units other than ethylene glycol units is 5-30mol% with a thermoplastic polyester (B) which is obtd. from a dicarboxylic acid component contg. at least 80mol% terephthtalic acid and a diol component contg. at least 80mol% ethylene glycol in such a ratio of A to B that 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid units account for 0.1-20mol% of the total amt. of the dicarboxylic acid units. The compsn. is blow-molded under monoaxial stretching to give an ultraviolet-barrier container.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition improved in liquid repellency and persistence thereof by using a specified perfluoroalkylated long-chain fatty acid ester. CONSTITUTION:A perfluoroalkyl alcohol is condensed with a linear or branched fatty acid through dehydration in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid, and the product is neutralized in an aqueous alkali solution to obtain a perfluoroalkylated long-chain fatty acid ester of the formula [wherein Rf is a 5-16C perfluoroalkyl; R1 is a 1-4C alkylene; and R2 is a 21-50C (un)saturated alkyl]. A thermoplastic resin such as PS, PVC or PE is melt-blended with 0.1-5wt.% said ester and optionally a filler, a pigment, an antistatic agent, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyalpha,beta-unsaturated nitrile with a narrow molecular- weight distribution under relatively mild conditions by polymerizing an alpha,beta-unsaturated nitrile in the presence of an aluminum porphyrin complex combined with a Lewis base. CONSTITUTION:An alpha,beta-unsaturated nitrile (e.g., methacrylonitrile or cinnamonitrile) is polymerized using an aluminum porphyrin complex as an initiator in the presence of a Lewis base (e.g., methylamine, 1,2,3-triazole or ethylphosphine), preferably at a mole ratio of 100-0.1 time based on the amount of the above-mentioned complex. A compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are H or 1-10C hydrocarbon; R3 is H or 1-20C hydrocarbon which may have functional groups such as halogen, alkoxy or ester) is preferable as the aluminum porphyrin complex.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polymethacrylic ester with a narrow molecular-weight distribution at a very high polymerization rate by polymerizing a methacrylate in the presence of an organometallic compound using an aluminum porphyrin complex as an initiator. CONSTITUTION:A methacrylic ester (e.g., methyl methacrylate or t- butylaminoethyl methacrylate) is polymerized in the presence of an organometallic compound (e.g., trimethylaluminum or diethylaluminum bromide) using an aluminum porphyrin complex [pref. compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are H or 1-10C hydrocarbon; R3 is H or 1-20C hydrocarbon which may have functional groups such as halogen or alkoxy)] as an initiator, thus obtaining the objective polymethacrylic ester.
