Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a mold for blow molding which prevents the ultra-thin part corresponding to an air vent along the split surface of a mold which occurs at the time of molding a thin-walled bottle in a method for blow molding. CONSTITUTION: A mold 10 for blow molding comprises a pair of split mold pieces used in the case of molding a hollow vessel by the steps of extruding thermoplastic resin from an extruder to form a melted parison, air blowing the parison, and sucking it via an air vent to mold the vessel, wherein a groove 14 for forming the vent for satisfying the following formula is formed at a split surface 13/ A/t ) of the vent, (t) is the mean thickness of the sidewall of the vessel (mm), L is the width of the groove for the vent (mm), and (d) is the depth of the groove for the vent.
