    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cement admixture containing a copolymer composition obtained by polymerizing maleic anhydride with a copolymerizable and hydrophobic monomer in the presence of a vinyl based hydrophilic monomer and having prescribed average molecular weight as a main component and capable of efficiently preventing lowering of the flowability of a cement compound by adding to the cement compound. CONSTITUTION:Maleic anhydride is polymerized with a copolymerizable and hydrophobic monomer such as ethylene in a molar ratio of 1/2-2/1 in the presence of a vinyl based hydrophilic monomer to provide the cement admixture. The above-mentioned hydrophilic monomer is preferably blended in a ratio of 0.1-20mol.% based on the total monomer. As the hydrophilic monomer, especially (meth)acrylic acid is preferably used. The admixture obtained by the above-mentioned copolymerization has 5,000-50,000 weight-average mol.wt. and 0.05-50mum particle size. The method for adding the cement admixture to the cement compound includes e.g. dissolution to knead water and addition to the cement compound once kneaded.

    CONSTITUTION: An aq. dispersion stabilizer of fine-particle silica powder is prepared from ≥1 kind selected from specified polycarboxylic acids (salts) such as a homopolymer of methacrylic acid, a copolymer of methacrylic acid and methacrylic ester, a copolymer of methacrylic acid, amide, and their esters, a copolymer of methacrylic acid and another copolymerizable hydrophilic monomer, and a copolymer of methacrylic acid and a copolymerizable hydrophobic monomer. Besides, a condensate of β-naphthalenesulfonic acid and formalin, polyvinyl alcohol, and polyvinyl pyrolidone are used jointly with the polycarboxylic acid (salt) as another process.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject improving agent capable of exhibiting excellent compacting property without depending on kinds of earth and sand by including a specific alcohol ethoxylate. SOLUTION: This improving agent comprises a secondary alcohol ethoxylate of the formula [(m+n) is 7-11; and X is an average addition mole number of ethylene oxide of 5-12]. A secondary alcohol ethoxylate having 12-14 Griffin HLB number, especially represented by the formula [(m+n) is 9-11; and X is 7-11] is preferable as the secondary alcohol ethoxylate of the formula. It is preferable that preferably >=50 wt.%, further preferably >=80 wt.%, especially preferably substantially all of the improving agent comprises the secondary alcohol ethoxylate of the formula. An amount of the improving agent added to earth and sand is preferably 0.001-2 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of earth and sand. Thereby, excellent compacting property can be expected without being limited by kinds of earth and sand and qualities, amounts, etc. of organic substances contained in earth and sand.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a cold-mixing asphalt compsn. excellent in pavement strength, durability, and water resistance by compounding an asphalt emulsion with a prepolymer which slowly resinifies in an aq. soln. CONSTITUTION: A formaldehyde condensate of a compd. represented by formulas I, II, III, or IV (wherein R1 , R3 , and R4 are each H or 1-9C alkyl; R2 is H or OH; RO is 2-3C oxyalkylene; n is 0-100; Z is H or SO3 X1 ; X1 and X2 are each H, a mono- or divalent metal, ammonium, etc.; and Y1 , Y2 , and Y3 are each H, CH2 OH, etc), etc., and a monomer cocondensable with these monomers or a salt of the condensate is used as an asphalt emulsion additive. The condensate its salt is a prepolymer having a wt. average mol.wt. of about 300-50,000 and is used pref. in an amt. of 0.5-50wt.% of the solid content of an asphalt emulsion in order to maintain sufficient binder strength, adhesion to aggregates, and flexibility. A catalyst is used for resinification, pref. an org. acid ester.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an improving agent containing a specific polymer water-soluble salt as a main component and further polyethylene glycol, good in the compacting property, rapid in stabilization, excellent in efficiency for compacting sandy soil, enabling labor saving, and capable of shortening a time required for construction. CONSTITUTION: This improving agent comprises (A) one or more kinds of the water-soluble salts of the homopolymers and copolymers of (i) an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid [preferably (meth)acrylic acid] and (ii) an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (preferably maleic acid, fumaric acid, itaconic acid), and (B) polyethylene glycol (preferably having a mol.wt. of 5000-500000). The components A and B are preferably used in an A/B weight ratio of (5-95)/(95-5), and the objective improving agent is preferably used in an amount of e.g. 0.01-1 pt.wt. based on the weight of earth and sand.

The water solution can permeates through fine parts using the interfacial active agent water solution the surface tension of which is less than 50dyne/cm, that is, as the water solution enters between the paved body and a blinding matter, weakens adhesion of the blinding matter and makes it easy to be peeled. Additionally, the blinding matter is emulsified and dispersed in the water solution by emulsifying and dispersing work and it is prevented from adhering on the paved body again.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a self-filling concrete from which the aggregate is hardly segregated. CONSTITUTION:An aggregate is coated with an aq. soln. contg. a quick setting agent, the concn. of the soln. is controlled to 0.1-3.0wt.%, and 2-15 pts.wt. of the soln. is deposited on 100 pts.wt. of the aggregate. A compd. selected from a group consisting of calcium chloride, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, alum and water glass is used as the agent. Cement is added to such an aggregate, and the mixture is kneaded with water by the well-known method to obtain a self-filling concrete. Otherwise, a cement admixture is added to the aggregate together with cement, the mixture is kneaded with water to obtain the slef-filling concrete. The slump flow value of the self-filling concrete is controlled to >=40cm when the value is measured by the method stipulated in JIS-A1101.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a cement dispersing agent effective for increasing the fluidity of concrete, mortar or paste compounded with hydraulic cement and improving the applicability and workability of the concrete, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective cement dispersing agent contains (A) a polymer of a monomer having ethylenic phenol skeleton or a copolymer of the monomer and other copolymerizable monomer and having an average molecular weight of 1,000-50,000 and (B) a copolymer of an olefin and an ethylenic unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and/or a scarcely water-soluble salt of the copolymer and having an average particle diameter of 0.1-50mum and an average molecular weight of 500-50,000 at a weight ratio (A)/(B) of 99.5/0.5 to 80/20. The workability and the amount of entrained air of the concrete can be maintained at definite levels over a long period by the use of the cement dispersing agent of the present invention.
