Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristic by forming the regulation plane of the slidably contacting component at the downstream side of the magnetic head as an oblique plane being separated from a disk, and forming the regulation plane of the slidably contacting component at the upstream side as a plane approaching to the disk in parallel with the oblique plane or a rotating plane so as to stabilize the abutting states of slidably contacting components at the downstream and upstream sides of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:The regulation plane which regulates the disk position of a first slidably contacting component 7 is formed as the oblique plane being separated from the rotating plane of the disk 1 at the downstream side as approaching, and a groove part 73 having a part to intersect orthogonally to the oblique plane in a rotational direction is formed, and the regulation plane to regulate the disk position of a second slidably contacting component 8 is formed as the oblique plane approaching the rotating plane of the disk 1 at the downstream side as approaching. Thereby, a flexible magnetic disk 1 is pressed on the magnetic head 3 with a constant pressing force by the negative pressure of an air flow at a first regulation plane, and the flexible magnetic disk can be prevented from being collided on the second slidably contacting component 8 with the positive pressure of the air flow, then, the traveling plane of the disk can be stably regulated. In such a way, the travel of the flexible magnetic disk 1 can be stabilized, and the satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristic can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve stability and durability of a magnetic medium recording device useful for processing information, etc., by constructing a slide contact surface of a slide contact part in a recording device consisting of a magnetic head, etc., from a composition containing glassy carbon and a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting polymer is carbonized to provide a glassy carbon material (A), such as polyacrylonitrile based material. One or more are selected from fine metallic oxide particles, fine metallic nitride particles, fine metallic carbide particles and fine metallic boride particles to afford an inorganic compound (B) (e.g. SiC having about 0.06mum particle diameter). The components (A) and (B) are then mixed to provide a composite material (C), which is then subjected to cutting out machining to afford a slide contact part 11. The back surface of a magnetic head 24 of a disk drive consisting of a spindle 22 for rotating a flexible magnetic disk 21 and the magnetic head 24, etc., in the vicinity of the surface of the disk 21 is provided with the slide contact part 11 to improve durability of the resultant magnetic medium record ing device.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a molded resin article having improved abrasion resistance and scratch resistance, by coating the surface of the article with a sputtered layer formed by using a carbon material as a sputtering target.
