Abstract: Se presenta un sistema para conectar en una terminal la proteccion de un cable de rapidez o velocidad elevada que tenga una camisa exterior una proteccion metálica interna con una porcion de la camisa externa retirada para exponer una porcion de la proteccion metálica y un dieléctrico interno por el lado interno de la proteccion metálica. Se entenderá que la palabra "terminal" se emplea algunas veces como conexion y recíprocamente. El sistema incluye un miembro de terminal de dos partes conductivo que tiene un parte para el manejo de la conexion y una parte terminal de conexion. La parte de manejo de proteccion está adaptada para permitir la separacion de la proteccion metálica con respecto al dieléctrico interno y el soldado de la proteccion a la parte de manejo de la proteccion, protegiendo el dieléctrico interno contra el calor del proceso de la soldadura. La parte terminal de proteccion está adaptada para poner a tierra, la proteccion metálica e incluye un receptáculo para recibir la parte de manejo de la proteccion en un acoplamiento conductivo.

Abstract: An electrical connector (12) includes a housing (14) with terminal-receiving passages (27,27') and female terminals (40,40') therein. Each passage has a cross-section for receiving the terminal and cooperating therewith to prevent twisting of the terminal. The terminals each include an elongated planar body portion (42), a terminating portion (26) extending rearwardly of the body portion and a contact portion (44) extending forwardly of the body portion. Abstract: A method is disclosed for terminating the metallic shield of a high speed cable, and including a terminating member used with the method. At least a portion of the outer jacket of the high speed cable is removed to expose a portion of the metallic shield of the cable. The cable is positioned on a conductive terminating member having an opening in registry with the exposed portion of the metallic shield. The shield is soldered to the terminating member through the opening.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for terminating the shield of a high speed cable having an outer jacket, an inner metallic shield with a portion of the outer jacket removed to expose a portion of the metallic shield, and an inner dielectric inside the metallic shield. The system includes a conductive two-part terminating member having a shield management part and a shield terminating part. The shield management part is adapted for allowing separation of the metallic shield from the inner dielectric and soldering of the shield to the shield management part, while protecting the inner dielectric from the heat of soldering. The shield terminating part is adapted for grounding the metallic shield and includes a receptacle for receiving the shield management part in conductive engagement therewith.

El blindaje metálico es soldado a la porcion del miembro de terminacion, ya que el miembro aislante protege al dieléctrico de calor de la etapa de soldadura.

Abstract: Se describe un sistema para terminar los blindajes metálicos de un par de cables de alta velocidad, cada uno que tiene una porcion del forro exterior retirada para exponer una porcion del blindaje metálico. Un manguito rígido se coloca entre el blindaje metálico y el dieléctrico de cada uno de los cables. Una placa de tierra generalmente planar alargada tiene un par de brazos de pliegue que se proyectan hacia adentro desde bordes opuestos de la placa cerca de un extremo para plegar sobre las porciones expuestas de los blindajes metálicos del par de cables. Los brazos de pliegue sujetan los blindajes entre los brazos y los manguitos rígidos y colocan el par de cables en la placa de tierra entre los brazos.
