Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide one or more of receptacle connectors housing an edge connector of a device such as a circuit board and a receptacle connector of a stacked type housing a differential signal pair in each of outlets, or a receptacle connector of a stacked type capable of assembling the differential signal pair in a connector body by using independent inserts of a wafer shape, each insert comparatively easy to be manufactured and a grounding face arrangeable between each of wafer inserts inside a surrounding connector housing. SOLUTION: Each of stacked type inserts of the connector is provided so as to have side faces of differential signal contacts opposing each other and is fixed to a circuit board having no supplementary width for housing a multi-layered differential signal, and a direction of the contacts is changed from a positioning of differential signal contacts in which each of the side faces is opposed to a positioning in which they are aligned back and forth by using a connector wafer. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latching system of an electric connector which has different latching mechanisms. SOLUTION: A first connector 12 is equipped with a housing 30 having a multifunctional latch post 32. The latch post 32 includes a distant end 46 threaded on the inside to accept a jackscrew latching mechanism of a counter connector, and an external shoulder part 42 to receive a spring arm latching mechanism 54 of a different counter connector 14. Further, the latch post includes a thin shank part 40 to form a second shoulder part 44 in order to easily mount the first connector 12 on a panel 22. The spring arm latching mechanism 54 passes through a mounting protrusion 64 and is arranged at a connector 14 of one side. The spring arm latching mechanism 54 contains a mounting flange 80 that can be inserted under a mounting protrusion 64, and this mounting flange 80 has a lip 84 bent upward in order to prevent it from inserted into an opening under mounting protrusion 64.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge connector of high density having a high data transfer speed without any sacrifice of mechanical completeness or a quality of a signal. SOLUTION: An edge connector is provided with a slender insulating housing 12, which includes a slender slot 13 for receiving an insertion edge 22 of a first electric circuit board 20 and a plurality of lateral terminal receiving cavities 14 on each side of the slot 13. Furthermore, the insulating housing 12 includes a plurality of signal terminals 60, 70 arranged inside the terminal receiving cavities 14 on each side of the slot 13 and a plurality of grounding terminals 40. The signal terminal 60 and the grounding terminal 70 each have a base portion, a holding portion for holding the terminal in the terminal receiving cavity 14, a tail portion for electrically connecting the terminal to a second electric circuit board 30, and a spring arm portion for electrically connecting the terminal to the first electric circuit board 20. The grounding terminal 40 includes a tapered large surface region extending from the base portion in the vicinity of the spring arm portion.

SOLUTION: Respective stack type insertion ports of a connector 10 is provided so that side surfaces of the differential signal contact face with each other, and is mounted on a circuit board 13 with no supplemental width in order to house a multi-layer differential signal. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector, that includes wire-operating mechanism for easy termination of the terminal tail portion in plural electrical wires, in mounting plural terminals on the housing of row arrangement. SOLUTION: The electrical connector 10 comprises three rows of terminal receiving passages. A pair of wire guide members 50 are provided, and on an outer face 54 of the upper side wire guide member, a wire-receiving channel 64 for arranging an electrical wires 70 in a row with a tail portion 24a of the terminal 24 of the upper row is provided, and on the outer face 54 of the lower side wire guide member, a wire-receiving channel 64 is provided for arranging the electrical wires in a row with a tail portion 28a of the terminal 28 of the lower row. A wire- receiving channel 58 for receiving the electric wires 70, that are arranged in a row in the tail portion 26a of the terminal 26 of the middle row, is provided between these wire guide members.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved electric connector that is mounted astride the edge of a circuit board having circuit trace at least on one side near the edge. SOLUTION: A electric connector 10 that is mounted astride the edge of the circuit board is provided. The connector 10 has insulating housing 12 that defines slot 32 to receive the edge of the circuit plate. Terminal 18s are installed in the insulating housing 12 and these terminals include terminal 72, 74 and 76 connected to circuit trace on the circuit board. A flexible grip arm 38 is formed with the insulating housing 12 as a unit on one side of the slot 32 to be engaged to the circuit board by elasticity when the circuit board is inserted in the slot 32. A grounding tab 58 adjoins the slot 32 from a shielding plate 46 in the front fitting surface 14 of the connector 10 and is extended through the housing 12 to be brought into contact with a grounding pad of the circuit board.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalk by positioning an elastic arm of a second terminal within the cross section of an elastic arm of a first terminal in the length direction of a dielectric housing when a circuit board is inserted into a card slot and the elastic spring arms of the first and second terminals are deformed. SOLUTION: An elastic spring arm 40c of a signal terminal is positioned within the cross section in the length direction of an elastic spring arm 38c of an earthed terminal, parallel to the elastic spring arm 38c and slightly narrow. A finger part 40e is positioned within the cross section in the length direction of an enlarged head 38e, and an enlarged supporting part 40g is positioned within the cross section in the length direction of a shield 38g. The shape in the whole construction of a signal terminal 40 is positioned within the cross section in the length direction of the earthed terminal 38, the earthed terminal 38 is positioned in the shadow of the signal terminal 40 or laid down on the signal terminal 40. Therefore, good signal/capacitive coupling is formed between both terminals, bonding between signals is decreased, and crosstalk of a connector is substantially decreased.

The body 42 comprises a holding part 44 which has an increased width and a twisted shape to its plane. The electric connector is provided with a housing 14 having terminal receiving passages 41, and each passage 41 has a pair of side walls 41a standing in a counter position for supporting both sides of the body 42 of the terminal 40. Each passage 41 includes a pair of sloped side walls 41b supporting a twisted holding part 44 for the terminal 40.

Abstract: A high-density connector utilizes a plurality of terminal assemblies that are assembled together into a block, or single unit, to form a connector. Each terminal assembly of the connector utilizes a plurality of conductive terminals having contact portions for mating with an opposing connector, and body portions held within an insulative body portion of the assembly. The terminal assemblies support arrays of terminals arranged in a specific order of signal-ground-signal arrays. The terminal assemblies have at least two insulative housing portions that support the signal terminal arrays and an intervening ground terminal array, which may or may not be supported by an associated insulative housing. The ground members have a series of grounding tabs formed therewith with extend out from the plane of the ground members, on opposite sides thereof into contact with ground reference terminals of the signal terminal arrays. In this manner, a ground path is enabled between the signal terminal and ground terminal arrays.
