According to a method, routing messages in a wireless device includes receiving routing preferences from one or more applications operating with a wireless device. The method further includes receiving a message, and routing the message to designated locations for the one or more applications. The locations may include an application or set of applications, or a memory unit associated with one or more applications. Another method includes determining a routing parameter from the message by parsing at least one routing parameter from message content. Routing the message further includes comparing the at least one routing parameter with the routing preferences.

Abstract: To provide "transparent" broadcast services for a multi-mode wireless device capable of communicating with multiple wireless communication networks, a composite set of pertinent parameters for broadcast messages used by the multiple networks is defined. The parameters of the broadcast message for ea ch network are mapped to corresponding parameters in the composite set. The composite set of parameters is used for processing and displaying broadcast messages received from the multiple networks. A broadcast message for each network (e.g., a CBS message in GSM or a broadcast SMS message in CDMA) is received and processed in accordance with the parameters of the message and filtering configurations applicable for the network. The parameters of the broadcast message are mapped to corresponding parameters in the composite se t. The broadcast message is further processed and displayed based on the parameters in the composite set.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable media for sending a message from a multi-mode wireless device in a multiple communication mode environment. A preferred communication mode is selected from a plurality of communication modes supported by the wireless device. Then, compatibility of the preferred message service with an active communication mode of the wireless device is determined. If the preferred message service is compatible with the active communication mode, the message is sent by using the preferred service according to the active communication mode.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods of differentiated data session access on a wireless communication device and dynamic source determination of provisioning information on a wireless communication device are disclosed. User Identity Modules (UIMs) are provisioned such that network-service applications resident on the wireless device are associated with a corresponding application profile within the UIM. Each networkservice application has a corresponding network address identifier defined within the user profile. The network address associated with the identifier is used to establish a data session for the corresponding network service application. By providing for application-specific network addresses, service providers and/or network operators can differentiate between what services a user is accessing during a data session. In addition, the UIMs may be provisioned with priority category identifiers that allow the associated network-service application to be prioritized for data session establishment.
