Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for correcting a distorted signal at a receiver device during wireless local area network (WLAN) communications are disclosed. The apparatuses and methods include receiving, by a receiver device in a WLAN, a distorted signal corresponding to a data packet signal transmitted from a transmitter device, receiving, by the receiver device, one or more transmitter parameters corresponding to the transmission of the data packet signal, the one or more transmitter parameters including information to adjust the distorted signal, and adjusting, by the receiver device, the distorted signal to reconstruct the data packet signal based at least on the one or more transmitter parameters.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for rate adaptation based on channel power tracking in wireless communications. An Access Point (AP) may measure a full-band channel quality information (CQI) for a plurality of wireless stations associated with the AP and allocate a sub-band resource unit from the plurality of sub-band resource units to a wireless station based on the full-band CQI. Aspects of the disclosure also include techniques for adjusting a data rate associated with the wireless station based on a channel power of the sub-band resource unit.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) may switch antenna array configurations during reception of a packet to determine channel characteristic information for the antenna array configurations. The AP may use the channel characteristic information to select an antenna array configuration for use, and to determine a beamforming steering matrix for the selected antenna array configuration. In some cases, the AP may use multiple antenna array configurations to transmit training fields in the preamble of a packet. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for performing ranging operations between wireless devices. In some implementations, wireless devices can exchange ranging packets that include packet extensions containing a plurality of long training fields (LTFs). The wireless devices can use the LTFs in the ranging packets to obtain a plurality of round-trip time (RTT) values based on a single exchange of ranging packets. The wireless devices also can use the LTFs to estimate angle of arrival (AoA) and angle of departure (AoD) information of the exchanged ranging packets.

An expected air time parameter may be used as a parameter for estimating throughput. Abstract: A method of performing dynamic sounding in a wireless communication device includes determining whether to perform sounding based on an age of current channel state information (CSI). An achievable throughput can be recorded as a reference throughput after performing the sounding. A current achievable throughput can be compared with the reference throughput. A CSI timestamp can be reset when the current throughput is above the reference throughput by a first predetermined amount, thereby prolonging a lifespan of the current CSI. Abstract: A wireless device may be configured to operate in one of two modes where each mode uses a different channel list to perform operations in accordance with the IEEE 802.11 standard. In a first mode, the wireless device operates as an access point that sets up channels using one channel list in order to facilitate communications within a basic service set (BSS). In a second mode, the wireless device uses a second channel list to operate as a station and scan for a BSS. The first channel list contains a subset of the channels contained in the second channel list. The channels in each respective channel list may be reconfigured to adapt to changes in the configuration of a BSS and the devices communicating therein.

Abstract: A hybrid positioning system can be implemented to improve location estimation of a wireless network device when reference network devices can have different distance calibration constants. For each of a plurality of positions at which the wireless network device is placed and for each reference network device, a distance between the wireless network device and the reference network device is determined. A first positioning algorithm is executed to determine an intermediate location (corresponding to each position) of the wireless network device and a distance calibration constant for each reference network device based, in part, on a corresponding initial location of the wireless network device.
