Abstract: PURPOSE:To accurately detect the radioactivity of a specimen regardless of the variation in the quantity of the specimen collected into a sample container by moving the sample container and a radioactivity detector relatively to each other, and integrating the detector output during said moving period. CONSTITUTION:A sample container 1 is first set in the position shown by a dotted line in the figure and then lowered to the position shown by a solid line as a driving mechanism 4 lowers according to the instructions from a controller 8. At the same time, a counter 7 performs integration of the scintillator output counting rate during said moving period. The measurement starting and stopping signals to the controller are provided in synchronization with the arrival of a sample by means of a separate controller, memory device or the like. In addition, a similar efficiency can be obtained by a method wherein a spot-type radioactivity detector is provided on the said of the sample container, and while said detector is being moved in the axial direction of the container, relatively thereto, the counting rate integrated value is measured.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To automatically optimize a photometric condition by varying the delay time of a synchronous rectifying pulse for generating a delay against on/off operations of light, prior to a measurement, and determining an optimum phase. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal modulated by a rotary chopper 2 becomes an Sin signal by a detector pre-amplifier 8 and a narrow band amplifier 10, and demodulated and brought to photometry by synchronizing with a modulating operation by the synchronous rectifying circuit 16, and a smoothing circuit 18 which are controlled by the synchronous rectifying pulse by a photocoupler 12, a delaying circuit 14, etc. Prior to this photometry, the delay time of the circuit 14 is varied stepwise successively through a CPU system 20, and the sequential output of the circuit 18 in that case is stored in a data memory 30. In this way, a delay time when the phase of the synchronous rectifying pulse is optimum and the output of the circuit 18 becomes maximum is selected, and a photometric condition is automatically optimized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To modulate reference luminous flux and sample luminous flux to mutually different fequencies easily at low cost by providing one rotary chopper, a beam combiner, and a light shield part. CONSTITUTION:When shutters 17 and 18 are opened and the chopper 5 provided nearby the beam combiner 4 makes one turn, mixed luminous flux (R+S)/2 passes through it twice, the sample luminous flux S/2 passes once, a state D in which pieces of luminous flux R and S are both cut off is entered once, so the chopper 5 of frequency (f) rotates to modulate the mixed luminous flux (R+S)/2 to a frequency 2f and the sample luminous flux S/2 to the frequency (f). The output of a detector 8 is amplified by a preamplifier 9 and separated into S/2 and (R+S)/2 by band-pass filters 10 and 11. Those signals S/2 and (R+S)/2 are amplified by main amplifiers 12 and 13 and then digitized by A/D converters 14 and 15, and a CPU16 performs arithmetic operation to obtain the ratio S/R of the sample luminous flux S and reference luminous flux R.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easly measure the spectrum of fluid by varying the modulation frequency of luminous flux from a light source and allowing a detector which converterts photoelectrically luminous flux corresponding to reference light and sample light diffracted spectrally by a diffraction grating to be replaced according to the modulation frequency. CONSTITUTION:A sample room adapter which varies the modulation frequency of luminous flux from the light source 1 and a sample room adapter 26' provided with high-speed choppers 30 and 31 are replaced according to normal spectral measurement and spectral measurement of fluid. Further, the detector adapter which converts photoelectrically luminous flux corresponding to the reference light and sample light diffracted spectrally by the diffraction grating 14 is replaced with a detector adapter 27' euqipped with a high-speed detector 32. Consequently, the luminous flux from the light source is varied in modulation frequency and the detector adapter 27' is replaceable, so this functions as a general infrared spectrophotometer and also measures the spectrum of fluid.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to adjust a filter band and to improve the reliability of the modulating photometry system applied for a spectrophotometer by controlling the rotation of a rotary chopper which modulates luminous flux and maximize a filter output. CONSTITUTION:Luminous flux from a light source 1 is split into sample luminous flux 2 and contrast luminous flux 3. The sample luminous flux 2 is transmitted through a sample cell 4, modulated by the rotary chopper 5a, and diffracted spectrally by a spectroscope 6a to output homogeneous light. The light is converted by a detector 7 electrically, amplified 8a, and inputted to a filter 9a for band filtering. Then, the signal is made into a direct current 10a, which is AD-converted 11a and inputted to a CPU12. The contrast luminous flux 3 is also processed similarly and inputted to the CPU12, which compares and displays 13 the transmissivity or light absorptivity of the sample. At this time, the frequency band of the filter 9a is fixed, but the CPU12 sends a control signal S1a to a pulse motor 14a so that the output is maximum, thus controlling the drive of the rotary chopper 5a. Thus, the filter output is maximized, so the need for the adjusting operation of the filter band is eliminated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease dispersion of measuring system of each channel, by a method wherein output pulses of a crest analyzer in which a window is set according to each output of a radiation detector utilizing a radiation source for calibration are counted, and the counted values are compared to set a compensation factor. CONSTITUTION:A radiation detector 11 is provided with a test tube 46 with a radiation source for calibration therein. A channel change-over circuit selects the output of the detector 11 according to a signal from a control circuit 41. The output of the detector 11 is applied to a crest analyzer. The output pulses of the crest analyzer are counted by a counter 31 and stored in a memory 45. The control circuit 41 finds out the energy spectral and set the window position of the crest analyzer 21 so as to bring the center of the window to the peak position. The above operation is repeated by other detectors 12 and 13, and a compensation factor is calculated by the control circuit 41 and is stored. By measuring the sample after that, the dispersion of measuring system of each channel is decreased.
