    Abstract: PURPOSE:To constitute the device so that a laser light of a light source is made incident with high efficiency on an optical waveguide device formed by of an optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION:In a condensing lens system 3 of a light source part 4 by which a laser light L from an end face 1a is condensed and made incident on an optical waveguide 2 of an optical waveguide device 1, an actuator 5 for executing a fine adjustment with regard to three directions of the (z) axis in the optical axis direction, and the (x) axis and the (y) axis being orthogonal to this (z) axis, and also, being orthogonal to each other with respect to a light incident end 2a of the optical waveguide is provided, and it is controlled by a return light of the laser light from the end face 1a of the optical waveguide device 1 which the light incident end 2a of the optical waveguide 2 of the laser light L faces.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve wavelength measuring precision and simplify a device by using a Cerenkov radiation type secondary higher harmonic generating element. CONSTITUTION:The light L1 from a light source 3 is entered to the light waveguide pass 2 of a Cerenkov radiation type SHG element 1 through a collimator lens 4 and a condenser lens. Thus, a secondary higher harmonic is generated by the non-linear optical effect of the SHG element 1, and the secondary higher harmonic L2 is emitted with a Cerenkov radiating angle theta from the main surface of a non-linear optical material 11. The incident light or primary light is cut by a filter 7, and only the secondary higher harmonic L2 is passed through it and entered to a position sensor 8 consisting of CCD, whereby the incident position is detected. The Cerenkov radiating angle theta can be detected from this position, and the input wavelength depending on the radiating angle can be precisely measured.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a generated magnetic field by providing a coil of a conductive pattern formed around the vicinity of a hole on a surface of a substrate and forming the thermal conductivity of this substrate so as to be larger than glass and the substrate so as to round off the corners. SOLUTION: A magnetic head 15 consists of a circular substrate 21 provided with a through hole 21a for an optical path on its center and a coil 22 made by the conductive pattern revolving the vicinity of this through hole 21a and formed on the surface. The substrate 21 is provided with a projection part of a front ball lens 13a in the through hole 21a, and is composed of the material with the thermal conductivity and heat radiation larger than the glass. Further, the substrate 21 is provided with a through hole 21b vertically penetrating through the outer end vicinity of the coil 22 and connection patterns 23, 24 prolonging from the insides of the through hole 21a and the through hole 21b to the outer peripheral edge. When a head drive voltage is applied to external electrodes 13c, 13d, a drive current flows through the coil 22 through the connection patterns 23, 24, and a signal is recorded on an optical disk.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inferiority in printing by inhibiting sticking or the like of ink or the like to around a nozzle by forming a groove part between the first nozzle opening part and the second nozzle opening part in a printer wherein the first and second nozzles which are respectively communicated to first and second pressure chambers are so opened as to be adjacent to each other. SOLUTION: A printing head of a carrier jet system printer is composed of a pressure chamber unit having pressure chamber 40, 41, and first and second piezo units corresponding to respective pressure chamber 40, 41. The pressure chamber unit is composed of an orifice plate 38 on which inductive openings 35, 37 communicated to nozzles 34, 36 are formed, the pressure chamber 40 being a passage for diluting liquid, the pressure chamber 41 being the passage of ink, and a diaphragm 42. In this case, a groove part 63 is formed over from the opening part of the nozzle 66 (36) of one main surface 68a being a nozzle opening surface of the orifice plate 68 (38) to the opening part of the nozzle 64 (34). Thereby, sticking of ink to around the nozzle opening part is inhibitted.

Thus, the shape of the distribution 4, 5 in electric field intensity of a waveguide mode in the end surface of the optical waveguide 1 is brought close to the shape of the distribution 4, 5 in electric field intensity in the light emitting point of the light source, and the superposition integration of the distribution 4, 5 in electric field intensity of an incident beam in the incident end surface of the optical waveguide 1 with the distribution 4, 5 in electric field intensity of the waveguide mode propagating in the optical waveguide 1 is enhanced. Thus, the propagation efficiency of light in the waveguide 1 and the coupling efficiency of the light source with the optical waveguide 1 are enhanced.
