    Abstract: A master tape and a slave tape are driven so that successive portions of each are brought into substantial contact with successive portions of the other at a printing station. A printing magnetic field is applied to such successive portions while they are in substantial contact with each other at the printing station, so that data on the master tape is copied onto the slave tape and the slave tape becomes a copy of the master tape. A single master tape can thus be employed to produce a plurality of copies. A counter counts the number of copies thus produced, and an indicator provides an indication corresponding to the remaining life expectancy of the master tape.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inferiority in printing by inhibiting sticking or the like of ink or the like to around a nozzle by forming a groove part between the first nozzle opening part and the second nozzle opening part in a printer wherein the first and second nozzles which are respectively communicated to first and second pressure chambers are so opened as to be adjacent to each other. SOLUTION: A printing head of a carrier jet system printer is composed of a pressure chamber unit having pressure chamber 40, 41, and first and second piezo units corresponding to respective pressure chamber 40, 41. The pressure chamber unit is composed of an orifice plate 38 on which inductive openings 35, 37 communicated to nozzles 34, 36 are formed, the pressure chamber 40 being a passage for diluting liquid, the pressure chamber 41 being the passage of ink, and a diaphragm 42. In this case, a groove part 63 is formed over from the opening part of the nozzle 66 (36) of one main surface 68a being a nozzle opening surface of the orifice plate 68 (38) to the opening part of the nozzle 64 (34). Thereby, sticking of ink to around the nozzle opening part is inhibitted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a thermosensible type printer which is capable of high precision recording and can output beautiful gradation easily. CONSTITUTION: A recording head 1 is composed of a semiconductor laser element 2 and a lens 3. A thermosensible paper sheet 8 and a photo-thermal conversion film 7, which is located outside, are wound up onto a cylindrical drum 6 to be fixed. The recording head 1 is fixed to a lead screw 4, which is fixed in parallel with the rotation center shaft of the drum 6. Laser beams 11 emitted from a semiconductor laser element are incident on the photo-thermal conversion film to be converted into heat so that the thermosensible paper sheet 8 is colored for recording. Two-dimentional recording on the thermosensible paper sheet 8 is made possible making the direction indicated by an arrow 12 the main scanning direction while the direction indicated by an arrow 13 the subordinate scanning direction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively obtain a high resolution in a subscanning direction without varying the moving direction of a photosensitive body by using plural laser elements as a light source and shifting the peak position of a laser spot by the composition of their outputs. CONSTITUTION:As a hexagonal mirror 8 rotates, the spot position shifts 1 from a point A to a point B on a photosensitive drum 1, and consequently, one scanning line is drawn. Then, the photosensitive drum 11 is rotated in a specific direction to draw lines in order, thereby forming one image called an electrostatic latent image. This latent image is visualized by a developing device, transferred to paper and fixed, and then outputted. Here, what is called a multi-beam element formed by integrating the laser elements on one chip is utilized as a laser unit; and the lasers are turned on at the same time and their powers are properly controlled to shift the peak of the composition output to an optional position in the laser array.

In the vicinity of the developer 12, a xenon lamp 21 as a heating means, which extends in the direction of the width with substantially the same dimension with that in the direction of the width of the electrostatic recording medium 1, is provided. This xenon lamp 21 gives by flashing an energy of about 1/3 of the one for complete fixation, i.e. 0.5 to 0.7 joule/cm , to toner 16b of styrene- acryl from the developer 12, so that a toner image can be half-fixed.

Then in case of displaying the pattern stored in the memory 22 on the sheet 1, at first, the mode changeover switch 31 is thrown to the position of the pattern mode and either of setting pattern selector switches 32-35 or a storage pattern selector switch 36 is depressed to select which pattern picture is to be displayed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a small-sized, diverse liquid crystal device by installing a photodetecting element between transparent bases, driving a liquid crystal device, and putting the liquid crystal device in operation as a printer and further an image scanner in addition to a liquid crystal shutter. CONSTITUTION:The device 1 receives original reflected light passed through a convergent rod array lens 13 by the photodetecting element 7 of the device 1 and operates liquid crystal 6 as a liquid crystal shutter between the transparent electrodes 4 and 5 to obtain a desired copy image by the electrophotographic means composed of a photosensitive drum 21 arranged under the device 1. Then, image signals are converted into electric signals simultaneously or individually because of characteristics of liquid crystal and outputted to a memory device through a CPU to make the device function as the image scanner. Further, the device 1 is driven as the liquid crystal shutter which operates on the basis of external or internal image signals to obtain the functions of the printer based upon the electric signals.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify a copying operation by detecting the rotational number of a counter roll which is revolved in response to the tape driving speed as well as the rotational number of a supply reel for slave tape and at the same time detecting the thickness of the slave tape to know an amount of the remaining tape at the supply side. CONSTITUTION:Both start and end cue signals of a master tape MT are detected by a reproduction head 21 when the 1st copying action is carried out to a slave tape ST. A CPU25 knows the recording time Lo of a program from the number of pulses given from an FG23 and records it. At the same time, the thickness of the ST is obtained from the program time and stored. Then both the MT and a drive tape DT are rewound to perform the 2nd copying job. The CPU25 calculates the wind diameter of the remaining ST from the rotational number Nc of a supply reel of the ST, the rotational number Mk of a counter roll 22 and the pulses supplied from both FG 23 and 24. Then a remaining tape amount L is calculated from the limit wind diameter of tape and the thickness of the ST. Thus the remaining copy amount is displayed on a display device 24 through the calculation of L/Lo.
